While your response is appreciated, I was thinking about things like penetration, heat and other things that can only be answered by people that have played there recently.
Thanks again.

I live about 30 miles from Ho Chunk and I rarely go there because the games are not very good. They have 2 deck with no DAS and D hard 9 10 11 only with normally about 1 full deck cut off. Every so often you may find 60-65% pen. Also, the table max is usually 10x the min ($10-$100 @ $25- $250). I don't pay to much to the 6 deck games, but I believe they are double any first 2 and DAS and hit soft 17. Wonging is virtually impossible on weekends. Also, I think the only tables with limits above $100 are in the high stakes room, which has 2 tables (1 2 deck @ 1 6 deck). I have spread $10-$80 on 2 deck before with no heat, but normally play short sessions of about 1 hour, so I have never pushed it. I just play every so often for practice and to stay on the mailing list for promos! Majestic pines in Black River Falls offers much better pen on their 2 deck game, but I think the limits are now $15-$100. I have played there much more often and never had any heat spreading from minimumto maximum. Hope this helps. Post any more questions ASAP, as I leave for Vegas at 8 AM on Sunday. PS The one nice thing about Ho Chunk is that they have 2 seperate pits, so at least you can bounce from pit to pit a little especially after midnight or so.

I live in Oshkosh, if you're ever looking for a teammate, i've been thinking about heading down there. I know most of the hot spots in Wisconsin too :D

my mom told me never to talk to strangers!! lol!! I am not sure quite what kind of team play you would want to do, but I am always listening to good ideas. Glad to here more from the Wisconsin AP's

I play there quite a bit. I play at $5 min $50 max 6D tables. Dealer hits on soft 17, no surrender. I have had good results even though I play small. Once I build up my bankroll I will move up to a higher tables. Penetration varies, but ave. is probably 1.5 decks. Not much heat, but I play small. I keep a pretty low profile at the $5 table and no one pays very close attention to me (I think). Never seen anyone backed off yet, but probably not frequented by many good counters. Good place. Beatable. shteve

Ho Chunk

Checked out Ho-Chunk a couple times last week, and again today. It seems like the previous poster's information is still accurate. I observed 6 deck games with 55%-80% penetration. The most alert dealers seemed to consistently cut 70%-75%, so that is probably the policy. One particular dealer had a great 80% cut one shoe, and a couple shoes later cut at about 55%. Dealer hits soft 17, DAS, resplit. Split Aces just get one card. Didn't notice heat spreading $5-$50, sometimes nearly $100 when I was sure I could get away with it (was losing, proclaiming "all in.)

The 2 deck game had horrible rules and penetration slightly over 50%. H17, no DAS, double only 10/11. Shuffle tracking seems impossible. They had auto shufflers on some tables and seemed pretty overkill in their manual shuffling.

If anyone wants to meet there sometime I would be up for it. I am a new counter and would be interested in meeting some other APers.

Have been playing at "Blank" lately and the penetration has change in our favor. I thought it was just one dealer at first but now it looks like all of them are doing it too. 6 deck shoe, ats hits on s17 split on doubles and triple and able double. Aces split once and no more after. 10 and 25 dollar tables with 500 max on the 10s and 1000 max on the 25s
I deleted a sentence in the above quote, plus the name of the casino.
It is not the dealer hits on S17, it is one or the other H17 or S17. When you see something good in a casino, in this case, the Penn please don't put it on open forums. You will find that doing so upsets people who take the game seriously.

Nice, do you mean Ho Chunk Madison or Wisconsin Dells? Can we get the day, the hour you were there and the tag name of the dealer?
What's the best spread you suggest to beat them fair and square? You seem like a genius of the game, please tell us more...

I have only been playing for about 3 or 4 years.
3 or 4 years of play should be enough to understand that posting that kind of info on an open board is the same as shooting a bullet in your foot.
You gave the location, the penetration, the fact that "all dealers give it", you even mentioned your spread  Why don't you also give your name and license plate number ?
Now two things could happen:
1- All counters 200 miles around will hammer the game and the conditions you like so much will soon disappear.
2- One of the casino bosses or dealers will see it and alert managements.

There is no positive point in putting that kind of info on an open board, period.
Honestly, what do you think you have accomplished ?

You have close friends, BJ partners ? TELL THEM !
No need to alert the entire country about the better games.

I am not playing there and if I did you wouldn't know.
Honest, I don't give s...t about Ho Chunk, but the general concept remains for any playable game. You share it with anybody you wish to, but not on open boards. Think about how many "good games" are still left to play...? Then ask yourself, "is spreading the word on open boards to anyone, the best way to keep them playable?" There's no gain from it, only a loss for someone somewhere.

By the way I have seen several post talking about playing conditions. Did you jump on them too?
I don't see everything that is posted on BJ boards. When you look at these posts, can you separate the specific from the general?

Not English speaking here but "Mello" take a "w" like "Mellow"

Suggestion: End it. You don't know whom you're talking to.

Reminds me of an old hard ass platoon sgt I use to have. This guy would never cut us any slack.
Ya, you probably had what you deserved, people like you need to be "under management", otherwise all they do come down to one word: Stupidity.
If somewhere in your life, you ever play that game for real money AND at a serious AP level, you will "maybe" understand my intervention.
Till this time, keep turning left when Sgt says so.....

Why would a platoon Sargent who sets an example give any slack to recruits?

If you are not as experienced or in the same league don't bother posting unless you like getting put down or insulted.
Nope! This should read: If you can't respect the Blackjack game thru your postings and post sensitive information in regard to specific games, THEN don't bother posting.

It's sad you just cannot realize this.

No individual member is above the game itself. Differences in skill/betting levels among members are enormous but everyone is and should be respected. Fortunately for newer players, there are some very knowledgeable members with decades of experience who are more than happy to answer various questions about the game.

All gaming forums have large numbers of lurkers "including people who are capable of exploiting situations" who do not post at all but read forums in the hope that some new player will reveal something real good that should have been private. Using networks with other like-minded people, those lurkers can quickly confirm what was said is legit or not and depending on how valuable the info was they can all be on a plane shortly to BURN IT OUT.

Some of the experienced players who do answer questions here are also ACTIVE players. In my opinion, the very last thing that anyone would want to do is bite the hands that feed you. Take that into consideration Bwssr.
