Hi All,

I took the plunge and invested in a domain for my blog:

It was originally intended to be a fly-on-the-wall look at my development as a card counter, but I'm just posting things as they come up now. Think there are some good stories there, please excuse the bad spelling and grammar.

Any suggestions or feedback is most welcome! Am still relatively new to the blogosphere and don't spend much time updating the site anymore except to post my experiences and thoughts.

(Anyone got a story for me to post on it - I'd also be happy to consider it - just PM me.)

I've debated starting up a webpage to blog about my advantage play as well. I think i might actually start working on that...

I enjoy celadore because he is in LONDON, not here.

I would shudder to think of you doing the same knowing where you are from.

You can only do harm to yourself depending on what you tell in the blog.

How easy it is for the eye to just go to these sites and read for a half hour a day and receive an invaluable education, ongoing, on how to block an AP or make a game unbeatable. They will and do,, do it.

We should keep our very nice situation to ourselves and protect it at all costs. :)

I was thinking more along the lines of talking about the things that got me into AP and some of the most important things that i have learned along the way. Im also involved in poker so i think i have a good amount i could talk about in that area as well. Obviously specifics on blackjack conditions and advanced techniques would remain vague...

Anyways, just a thought and ive by no means even begun to construct anything :).

This seems to happen a lot. Once the initial run of good luck (mistaken for skill) wears off, I suppose blogging about it becomes significantly less fun. Then they just disappear.

Not too many can see the humor in losing.

What happened to me?
No, I didn't lose money. I am still up. In the end, I have averaged a gain of $3 an hour playing blackjack and have decided that it is a waste of my time and can earn a lot more in business. It was fun initially - but I don't want to spend my life in a casino and have a lot more interests outside of this now.

I also started playing live poker with some real rich fish and it is waaay more fun and profitable. $150 a night profit on average (night can last anywhere between 2 - 5 hours). And I only do it a couple of nights a week now (beginning of the year was 7 nights a week for 3 months! Crazy - but I won over $12,000 in this period).

Sorry to disappoint my 2 readers ;), but the fun has gone out of it.

Will I card count again?
Yes, I will and I have. Mostly on holidays. But now it's only for fun, just to know that I can.

I shall post one more time on the blog just for your benefit :grin:

So there were recently a couple of post over at BlackJack Info on what happened to the blog. A bit of speculation that I in fact couldn't count cards at all and lost my bankroll. Well, just in case anyone is wondering what happened, here is what happened:

It was fun ... for a while

When I first started counting cards, I was still pretty young (mid twenties) had lots of spare time and was looking for ways to make some easy money. As you already know, the movie 21 is what inspired me to learn how to count cards. In the beginning, it was all very exciting. Finding out that card counting was statistically possible, learning how to do it and then taking that first step into a casino and counting that first card - what a rush!

As I have admitted previously, I was fortunate to start my career with a hot streak. My bankroll quickly grew and the winning was awesome. It was an exciting period of my life. Free food, free drinks and what felt like free money! Sure, there were some times when you would lose, and that sucked! But, at the end of the day, I knew that I was winning, and that held me through those darker periods.

But, after more than a year of counting cards, the fun and excitement were gone. It had become a chore. Not to mention I was finally starting to pick up some heat.

So what made me stop counting cards?
Actually, I should probably blame poker. In Nov 2009, I found that many of the casinos I play blackjack at, also ran some live poker games. $1/$2 blinds, no-limit, texas hold-em. I've been playing online poker for years, but am a steady loser online. However, I took to live poker like a fish to water. The games at my local casinos are full of weak players (a couple of strong ones too) - and for this first time, I was the shark! I have a good knack for reading my opponents. I don't see their tells too often, but I notice their patterns of playing. i.e. they bluff more if they are losing, they only have a few chips left, depending on how drunk they are etc, etc.

Poker is also more social, and I not only have more fun, but have made some good friends too (with the better players ... not the fish).
