I just finished writing the section of bonus whoring for online players. I did not fully edit this yet but it makes a good rough draft. Anyone think it needs anything else?
Bonus Whoring
There’s a lot of money on the internet. There are many ways to do so but the easiest is simply whoring yourself out over as many sites as possible! Now unless you are a good looking female who is confident with her body we will have to resort to casino whoring. The days of simple bonus whoring have come and gone but has not been completely exterminated. Bonus whoring is playing blackjack online in order to take advantage of the generous promotion offers graciously given to you by the virtual casino. Unlike land based casinos there are thousands of sites offering gaming opportunities in the comfort of your own home. What must these sites do to beat all that competition? They must offer generous promotions in order to suck in the common player. Since you have read this far into the book I can see you do not want to be just the common player but a true AP!
Most Common Types of Casino Bonuses
Taking advantage of these promotional situations are quite easy and come in many different types. Most bonuses are initiated upon signup. These are the three most common:
Cashable bonus- A cashable bonus has a wagering requirement. For example, a casino may offer up to a $500 sign up bonus with a 20x wagering requirement. This would mean you must wager 25x your initial buy in, lets say we bought in for the equivalent amount (500) 500x20= $10,000. What this means is once you wager a total of $10,000 your bonus of $500 will be “unlocked” and you are allowed to cash it out. You may wager the $10,000 in any way you like. You may make, 10,000 $1 bets, 1,000 $10 bets, 200 $50 bets or any other amount you decide upon. The good news is you are expected to lose ~.5% of your wager in the long run $10,000x.5%= $50 meaning on average you will lose $50 of your $500 bonus leaving you a $450 profit. Yet another positive of bonus whoring is the speed at which it can be accomplished. Unlike a land based casino in which the dealer can produce 100 hands per hour an electronic casino can deal much faster with no wait to shuffle. A fast online player with the proper software can play near if not over 1,000 hands per hour. This means that $450 can be made rather quickly.
Sticky bonus- A sticky bonus has a wagering requirement as well. The problem with a sticky bonus is that it is not cashable and can only be used for wagers. You generally play your cash balance first. If your cash balance drops to zero, you can continue playing using the sticky bonus.
Free play bonus- After signing up at the casino, you are given money to play the casino games without making any deposit. Your free play winnings are credited as a bonus with your first real money deposit.
Bonus Strategies
By now you are probably ready to go at it and beat some bonuses but don’t go running to your computer just yet. To be sure you don’t deviate from your expected return you need to take into account your bet sizing. Using a small wager amount will lower your variance and reduce your risk of busting before you meet your wagering requirement but it will also take much longer. On the other hand a large bet increases the chance of a loss or gain well above the expected return at a much faster rate. The following tables should help you decide on a bet size that will reduce your ROR and time involved.
Chance of Gain
Playthrough Requirement
Bet Size 5xB 10xB 15xB 20xB 25xB 30xB 40xB 60xB 80xB 100xB
B/100 100% 99.7% 99% 97% 95% 93% 88% 81% 75% 70%
B/50 99.8% 97% 94% 91% 88% 85% 80% 73% 68% 61
B/20 96% 89% 84% 79% 75% 72% 68% 60% 53% 48%
B/10 89% 80% 75% 70% 66% 63% 57% 49% 43% 38%
B/5 79% 70% 63% 58% 54% 50% 46% 38% 33% 29%
The chance of gain chart does require a little math on the players end. In the bet size column you will see a B, B=bankroll. What you must do to determine your proper bet size you find your desired chance of gain then simply take your bankroll ($500) and divide it by the proceeding number in the proper row. For example.
You have a $500 bankroll and have deposited into a 25x wagering requirement. You then decide You am satisfied with a 75% chance of gain. You would then find 75% on the chart under 25x wagering requirement and see your bet size is B/20 ($500/20=$52) In this example the proper bet is $25 per hand until the wagering requirement is complete.
About the casinos
When you find and decide on your favorite type of bonus you must also consider the casino’s reputation. Almost all of online gaming is unregulated and foreign. Before you decide to trust a site and deposit your hard earned money you must do your homework. A simple Google search can tell a lot about a site. Look out for previous customers that complain about the venue refusing to pay out their earnings. If it seems that there is a majority of negative experiences DON’T PLAY no matter how attractive the bonus. When you encounter a bad company also look out for their brother or sister sites. Companies can own 1,2 or 100 different sites. In this case be sure to do some extra homework, if you cant trust one why trust the others?
Another piece of advice is always read the fine print. Some sites have become increasingly threatened by bonus players and may refuse to pay out if you do not play for some time after your bonus is complete. Think about it, no one likes someone playing them for the attraction bonus then never returning.
After signing up for an online casino be sure to wait 15 minutes before depositing. A casino homepage may advertise a 20x wagering requirement and then send an email confirming it to be 100x.
If you think you are going to count cards online you may as well give it up now. Someone online casinos are shuffled after each hand some are random and some are dealt like a normal shoe then randomized. There is no way to tell when there is a shuffle so this effectively defeats counting. Just play basic strategy.
