Leroy Nimka published his 'color-coded' KO strategy on the Web in '02 which subsequently disappeared. Using the WebWayBack Archive it is herein retrieved. zg

I had never seen this before. It looks like a great resource for KO players. Thanks for digging it up.

Reko

I think the color-coded approach was for learning/memory purposes.

Below is Cacarulo's simplified "REKO" with no appreciable loss over KO-preferred. zg

Hey Zengrifter

In response to your 03/11/06 post 'Indices: All set at +2...'

What does TTV 5/6 at +7 mean ? Also, does enhanced REKO mean you alter basic strategy for these hands when the count is at or above key count ? I have mastered basic, and am currently working like a rented mule:whip: to learn rookie KO( I chart my play-practice a min. of 2 hrs a night). Am hoping to buy book this weekend. I am committed to not playing in the casinos until I know counting like my birthdate. I feel KO is as good as any as I would get to a land based maybe 1-2 a month at best. Lastly, is a 6 deck game where dealer hits on S17 not worth playing, or can you overcome if they offer good(75% or better ?) penetration. Sorry for the long post. I greatly appreciate all the info you and others share.

Peace

**It means that those hands pair of 10s v 5&6 are the only exception to the +2 REKO system - 10s vs 5/6 split at RC +7 or higher.

Also, does enhanced REKO mean you alter basic strategy for these hands when the count is at or above key count ?

**Depart BS for those hands at RC +2 or higher.

**Proceed immediately to REKO.

**Yes, good, BUT avoid placing bets in minus counts like it was the plague. zg

Why does Nimka recommend surrendering so many hands at the purple level? Wouldn't the count have to be higher than the approx. +6 true that purple entails to surrender e.g. 13vT? Is this a risk-averse decision?

Thanks.
