Lvl 2 upgrade?

Hey everyone, (I’m new to this forum so pardon me if this has already been posted and I can remove this post if necessary.)

I have been using Hilo for a couple of years now and I use about 30 deviations- it doesn’t seem like I encounter many more than that overall. I’m in the black and that’s great and all… however, recently I have been questioning the power of the system. From my observations it seems that it is often defeated by sevens, and at times doesn’t take advantage of certain situations. (I mostly play 8 deck shoes, S17, RSA, DSA, 4HS.) I have been doing research on some level two systems and was curious as to what other people are using in this realm? I’ve already began practicing running counts with the FELT system, and it’s pretty easy transition. I’m a very smart and dedicated person; I’m not worried about things like “you’re more prone to make a mistake” or “your speed might slow down.” I have Hilo so embedded in me that if worse comes the worse, I could always just switch to Hilo in the casino until I have the level two system really internalized. I’m not gonna get confused as I am extremely attentive. My main concern is beating blackjack at a higher rate and making more money.

Any insight would be fantastic

FELT is basically the RPC. But, if you are to get the power of the RPC, then I would urge you to learn the proper indices for the count and not just the more simplified ones provided by Norm. RPC will outperform Hi-Lo, according to conditions, spread (which you didn't mention), etc., by about 6%-8%.

Yes, I wouldn’t bother with the compromised indices. I wanted to check if there is a level 2 system more beneficial to learn than FELT-F, or is it all very close? (Knowing me- I’ll be researching a lvl 3 system half a decade down the road, but this step first.) Spread is usually 1-20, sometimes 1-24/1-30 depending on who’s supervising. I try to avoid even counts, unless I have no choice because of heads up only situations. If I can avoid the even counts I’ll hop in around a T1.5, or a T1 if we are down to 4/3.5 decks left.
