16 v 10 and 15 v 10

Hey guys,

Joined the forum 10 minutes ago and card counting only a week and a half ago so I appologize for the rudimentary question (and I know it's probably somewhere on the forum) but could someone answer me this TC question?

So there's some overlap on certain hands and I was wondering what the proper action was to take. For example, on a 15 v 10 you are told to stand with a TC of +4 or higher, but a fab 4 rule tells you to surrender 0 or higher. So would the correct action be surrender or hit at something like TC 3, and would the correct action be hit or surrender at stand at something like TC5?

Thank you guys and sorry again. Happy to join the forum!

Hi and Welcome.

Surrender indices take precedence over hit/stand indices. So if your game has surrender, then you do so at TC>=0 and forget about the hit/stand index. If there is no surrender then you hit at TC=3 and stand at TC>=4.

I also apply the hit/stand indexes for those deviations in surrender games where you have a 3 card 15 or 16 and you cannot surrender. I suppose the actual number to deviate may change based on the composition of the 15 or 16 but I have no idea what that may be.

Good point re: still needing the hit/stand indices for multicard hands. The indices are not composition dependent.
