i read this and just wondered what you thought on it?

basically i think its saying hit 17 against a dealers 9,10,A during bad(low) counts. apparantly you have more chane in the long run.
i suppose it would attract less heat. what do ya think?

I'm skeptical of this deviation. I looked for the author on the site above and couldn't find his name. Maybe I just overlooked it.

The way i read it he only recommended NOT hitting it during high counts! This is scary advice. He also said you will ALWAYS lose this hand which obviously isnt true.

There are situations where you can hit a 17 vs. A. This is especially so if you are using a count that doesn't count the 7 or even 6. It's very rare and the index generally isn't worth it, except maybe in SD.

Now surrender 17 vs. 10, that's a little more worthwhile. I believe the risk-averse index for this play using High-Low is around 5 or 6. All surrender indices are useful because they reduce variance and thus preserve bankroll, even if they don't increase your advantage very much.
