2 person team

I have a female partner who knows BS, does not count, and plays the role of sexy, flirty with staff, chatty, distracting, clueless gf very well. So basically we have just been playing like I am spreading to 2 hands always. So our bets have each been 70% of my usual bet.
But does anyone have advice on how to refine this team play? I have read that partners are better off at separate tables, but if we stick together at the same table, and both have a 1-5 bet ramp in DD,

do we have a decent edge (H17, DAS, NS, pen of 50%-60%)? Also some
S17.

One if us tries to wong out for calls and bathroom during
negative counts leaving the other to play till shuffle, but is that wise?
I have read that sometimes you want to spread to 2 hands at
min bet in negative counts to burn cards.

Instead of our top bet of 5x minimum at TC of +5 or higher, should we
spread to 3 hands of say 4X minimum? Spread to 3 hands earlier?

We usually just place the same bet each hand, but would mixing it up so
one has a low bet and one a high bet work ok at times?

This seems to offer some cover, but we have had some heat. Any tips on
how to use this method for cover?

Should we play with no other players at the table or is it better to have
others?

A couple ideas to minimize the amount of hands being played in bad counts:

You are "training" her. She sits down and plays BS straight out. You hover over her, all lovey-dovey. This works best at a full table with low limits. If anyone asks why you don't play, you say (with just maybe a bit of contempt) "I already know how to play blackjack, and [my system doesn't work at low limits / I don't waste my time with $5 tables / I've already won several hundred tonight]" Make it seem like you're a higher roller who doesn't want to take up a ploppy seat.

Now, after she gets the "hang of it", that is-- when the count gets high-- you do something like "So you think you're good? I can trust you with my money?" She goes all "yup tee hee". So then you backbet her. Some giganticly huge spread that you'd never be able to get away with if you were playing. Remember, you've already established you're a high roller, right?

Since you count and she doesn't, I'll assume she doesn't know the index players. So if a hand is dealt that requires an index play, give her a signal. Put your hand on her shoulder, or move to her other side, or stroke her hair, or something subtle. When its her turn, she can "umm" a bit, then turn to you for "advice". (And if anyone aruges with your "wrong" play, you point to your large stack of chips on the table and make fun of their one red chip, you arrogent bastard ;) ).

Alternatively, you can reverse the roles. You, the counter, sit down to play every hand. You don't change your bet, ever. Your partner watches you play, all facinated and everything. Keep telling her how the game works, what's going on, etc. (Throw in some bad advice if needed). Keep showing off your winnings to her "Look, $20! For two minutes work!". Every now and then, ask her if she wants do put some of her money on you, you'll win her a new purse or something awsome. She should, of course, say "no, I don't know yet, I'm not sure" UNLESS you are giving her a certain signal. Once you've asked AND given the signal-- that means the count is high. She'll pull out the big stack of chips, and will start back-betting you. You can probably get the sacrifice split going, since it's more plausible that the cautious "rich" newbie standing behind you will be nervous about putting "more money" on the table (and it will make you seem like a clueless ploppy). Once the count drops, give her a signal and she can grab her chips and go "Wow, you won me so much! But I'm not going to get greedy." (And then you either go to another table/casino and repeat, or spend the next while convincing her to try again).

There you go.

Yes. Essentially you are like one player who bets 1-2x5, which is a good spread for DD games. The rules sound pretty good too, so just try to find the best pen you can get.

Spreading to multiple hands will depend on how many people are at the table. If you spread too far then you may end up getting less rounds in positive situations. In general you want to play one hand heads up or two hands when there are 2-3 other players at the table. Here’s a link that explains why (similar to Don Schlesinger’s analysis):

It might be good for cover. If it looks like the two of you are just randomly varying your bets (but your total bet matches the count) then you might get away with it for longer.

For this type of play it would be best if there were no other players. You will get more hands per hour and your partner will still be Wonging out when needed. Although, if there were other players at the table then you could both Wong In/Out instead.

Here is a link to a few more ideas:
