250 units drop!

With BlackJack Verite, I've heard that you can big drops on an unlucky day, but 250 units! And that was in about 2750 hands... I mean I gone past a normal ruin here, I've ruined my self enough to lose more than twice my 100 units bankroll... Could it be the fact that when the count goes good, I switch from playing 1 hand to playing 3 hands? Would this perhaps augment the risk of ruin? What do you guys thinK?

I think is might be the size of your spread, what was it? zg

Well the spread wasn't that big, the max I bet was maybe 6 units although one time I bet 8 units.. The thing is I lost 3000$ in the +6 count, and that realy hurt (25$ unit bet)... So I was thinking, if when the count is lets say +6, I'll maybe have 100$ ~ 125$ on 3 hands against the dealer, so thats like perhaps 350$... So lets say I hit a bad streak of dealer hands where the dealer never buts and gets 21 all the time... I lose 3 hands at once each time... So I was wondering, might the fact that I play 3 hands agains the dealer when the count is high have had anything to do that I just had this major bad streak?

Probably not. Playing multiple hands like you are doing will usually decrease the size of the swings.

Sounds like variance to me. This stuff is real, and yes, the dealer can pull 21 out of his ass time after time, even in a high count. Being down 250 units is very easy to do.

and is decreasing swings a good or bad thing? do you guys know of any article that explains what happens mathematically when you play more than 1 hands in a given situation?

uh no, down 250 units in a session is beyond any doubt a "bad run"
that being said, this does happen occasionally and by no means suggests anything about your play or the possibility of cheating

actually, from a post to which Sunny refered me, I understood that I was actually ALWAYS overbetting on good high counts. Most of the time, I was putting twice as much money on the table as the TC would recommend because I was spreading to 3 hands without using the 3 x 50% rule or was spreading to 2 hands without using the 2 x 75$ rule; which BTW are not "rules" but just numbers I got from that other post.

anyway, I think this might have caused the huge drop, I was overbetting and if I'm not mistaking, that could have either raised my ROR by a lot, or actually make me lose my edge, or both actually...
