5 Spots Verse 7 Spots blackjack table.

I noticed some casino used 5 spots blackjack table. Is this a disadvantage for card counter?? Also, do anybody know why they changed to 5 spots????

5-spots is better for a counter - but only if he is forced to play at a full table (more hands per shoe). zg
 
The only place I've seen 5 spot tables have been at mid-stakes SD tables, because you can't deal RO6 with 6 people at the table. Doesn't make much of a difference to a CC because we shouldn't play with more than 3 hands in SD anyway. I've seen 9 spot tables on casino cruise ships. What a mess they are.

Then there are the 12-spot, 6-seat tables which are nice for solo backcounting because the counts move around so quickly.

In all the casinos dealing 6-deck that I play at, there are either 6 or 7 spots. One casino has tables with 7 spots but they do not allow players to use the #1 spot because that spot is partially covered by the shoe!
