66v2 Basic Strategy is wrong

After looking up the expected return for hitting 12v2 I get -.25%. For splitting 66v2 it's around -.21%. Basic Strategy says to split 66v2 and this is the one play that doesnt make sense to me according to the expected return percentages. Why would you want 2 hands of -0.21% rather than just one hand of -.25%? 2 hands of -.21% is a total of -.42% loss in EV whereas by just hitting you just lose -.25%

The proper basic strategy play for 66v2 should be to "HIT".

According to your logic, it's worth up to -.84% of you're allowed to split to 4 hands like a normal casino allows. I hope Don (edit: or someone else like Gronbog) will chime in on your thoughts here.

The overall EV of your original bet when splitting is -0.21%, not the individual EVs of the split hands. -0.21% is better than -0.25%.

And that's for when you may split only once. If you may split three times, the e.v. is -19.7%.
