I take it that your playing 6d-8d.

Sounds like the typical myth , "somebody's got to take a hit or we're all gonna lose".

If it's top of the shoe play BS, stand, otherwise follow your indices, I use H < -5.

14 vs 4 is an underdog

When you have a 14 vs 4 you will most likely lose the hand but basuc strategy tells us to stay because we will lose less money staying compared to hitting.
When you say you feel that you should hit three of those hands, I get the feeling that you know that by hitting 14 3 of 7 times you are likely to make a hand. Your problem though is you do not know which 3 hands to hit since you know neither the dealer's hole card or your hit card.

Am I missing something here.

Depends what cards comprise your so called 14s. Stand on 77, but Hit 10,4.
He is playing 14 vs 4
Why would he be standing on 7,7 and not spliting and why would he be hitting his 10,4?

samples 100 hands in 1 table all have 14 dealer 4
if you stand , dealer 17-21
you lost all 100 hands
bet if you hit definetly you lost less

Dealer showing a 4 and getting a 17-21 on 100 straight hands??????????
Has to be virtually impossible.

Think I am getting it but what is the answer

Here is my guess:
Kolan has a giant table with a giant shoe of 100 decks.
There are 100 players who all have 14 and the dealer has a 4 showing.

If everyone stays then all will lose if the dealer makes a hand.
If everyone stays then all will win if the dealer busts.
The players will win all or lose all but over a period land up losing since the dealer will make a hand more often than not.

Though not an AP situation, I think Kolan wants someone to give him figures on why all should still stay in this situation or should some hit?????

It is not that different than on a more realistic scale where the dealer is showing a 4 on top and every player has a stiff and stays. Actually, I think it is no different except here the players have 100 hands instead of 4 or 5.

Video BJ?

Sounds like one of those 100 hand VP machines... designed for BJ, but you can play groups of hands differently. Do they make a game like that??
