8D Spreading

Example...assuming 5 players playing, the count jumps to an unbalanced +13 (Approx 36 cards dealt).
Would you increase your spread this early in the shoe verses three decks dealt with a + 13 unbalanced count?

What am I missing? Is it proper to hold off on large bets until at least 1 1/2 decks are dealt?

Thanks, jp

Well, are you using a balanced count, or an unbalanced one?

If you're talking hi-lo, your true count would be about 1.7. You probably have an advantage at that count, albeit not a huge one. Sure, bet into it.

I'm not sure what you mean by an unbalanced +13, but as Rhino said, if you're talking HiLo, the TC is just under +2 and worth a 3-4 unit bet.

If you mean that the count is +13 using an unbalanced count such as K-O and you started with IRC of say -20 then yeah....you would would want to have a big bet out.

But I'm still confused because if there were only 36 cards dealt and you got to +13 that would mean you saw an awful lot of small cards. Not saying it couldn't happen but the odds are slim.

However, if your were playing Hi-Lo or similar balanced counting system then that +13 would need to be converted to a true count and that early on it wouldn't be that high. It would be right around +2 or so.

High count early

There is alot to assume in your post ie. counting system used, IRC that you started at and so on. If you are using KO system, Mimeosine did a Tko calcaulation and table if you do a search on this site you will find the tables they are invaluable. blackchipjim
