A bit annoyed

Went to the casino over the weekend with the GF and she's into slots so I wonder off to the Blackjack tables. I'm not a pro, or play at the casino too often ( last time I played was over a year ago) I USE MY MONEY, but I hate when people grumble or comment when I do things the way I want. thier comments are "the books say you shouldn't" or the famous "your not susposed to do that". After hearing they guy cry and complain about how I was doing things I had finally had enough and told him nicely that if he wants me to play his way he better give me his chips! Is this the case everywhere? Was also told that you never split any cards that start with the letter "F"

They were mistaken. It's" you never eat Oysters in a month that has an R in it."

There are other people in the casino? Never noticed them.
It is a little hard when they are verbally busting your balls,, to be the only person in the casino.

Mr. Marine, I go off on them after a short while, and if they want a fight they got it. They are showing you disrespect, and I do not handle that sh** well.

Just the truth.

With all due respect Marine you did say you are not pro nor a regular player. Are you playing with knowledge or just playing with the way you feel? Some people get annoyed with a player that don't have the slightest clue on how to play. If you are a ap which I think you may be just ignore the morons like that sand flea sucking your blood when you are at attention in your skivvies. OOHRAA!

You're probably a poor player and this advice is merely to reduce your disadvantage. There is lots of bad advice out there but if someone is telling you not to hit your 15 vs dealer 5 you should probably listen.

So true (and so obvious if you think about it): in its most simple element, they ARE showing disrespect.

And ignoring them only makes them more brazen in their next attack on the next guy.

If the guy is being a real AH, maybe something like this:

"Sir, if you don't like the way I play, you can go play by yourself in High Limit...and if you can't afford that, you'll have to be polite and let everyone play their hand however they want to unmolested--and you know what, the dealer agrees with me and if you want him to call the Pit Boss over to confirm this, he'd be happy to do so, just let us know." :eyepatch:

That should do.

Welcome to the club. BJ is usually unplayable because how you play affect other people's card. You only need one person who is not a gentlemen to spoil your day.
If you can tolerate the arguements and maybe some fights then this game is for you. If you don't want any of this then stay away from the game.

With all due respect, if your other posts are a true reflection of how little you know about this game, you might just want to try listening to their advice.

Sorry to play Devil's advocate, but this is the general section of the forum, not the card counting or advanced strategies section. To answer the OP's question, yes, this happens constantly. You will never stop hearing people complain about you're playing "incorrectly" (even if you're playing optimally). It's your money, and if you want to gamble with it, you can play however you'd like. If you'd like to not gamble but learn about actually beating blackjack, the other forums are good places to start. Otherwise, just play however you want!

There's nothing more fabulous then a grumbling black chip player standing on 16 vs dealers 4,5,or 6 as I signal for a hit on my 12. Even the dealer will question me twice as I say hit it!

When the times right I'm going to hit it. You don't like it, find another table.

but you Mr. Marine, as Roch! says, should learn the minimum of basic strategy. Even for the fun of it, but it's your money, do as you wish.

Read my whole posting and not just one sentence and then tell me if it make sense to you.

I don't think he was referring to the monetary aspect of it.

I know numerous people who refuse to play BJ because other people at the tables ruin it for them.
