A Pair of A's

The casinos by me all have the rule where you can split up to 3 times (to total 4 hands) but you can only split A's once. On split A's you get one card. I would assume that the vast majority of casinos have this same rule. [in fact the DD game by me you can't split A's]. My question is this : are there any casinos that you guys know of where you can split A's mulitple times? I'm just wondering if this condition exists anywhere.

There are quite a few casinos in Nevada that allow you to replit aces. It's a handy little bonus. :) The SuperFun games will let you hit and double on split aces as well.

Both Mystic Lake and Treasure Island in Minnesota allow you to split A's up to 4 hands. Still only get 1 hit though.

Longhorn in vegas allows you to split to 3 hands with aces. you still only get one card on the splits though.

I played at a casino that allowed A's to be split to 4 hands not to long ago. The rule came back to burn me. I had max bet out, get a pair of A's and split. I end up splitting to 4 hands of 21,20,17 and 12. Dealer is showing an 8, flips the 3 and the rest is history.

I can think of one or two local places (Valley View, maybe Pala) that allow it on their shoe games, but more don't.

It's a nice little rule, but the actual effect on your EV is very small.

... and I don't think resplitting aces has ever turned out well for me, either. :)

What I especially like for strangeness is the "classic blackjack" game offered on microgaming online casinos. You're not allowed to resplit aces, but you are allowed to draw more cards on them (but not double). It's also a goofy semi-no-hole-card game. It's so old, I think it was coded by programmers in a third world country who hadn't seen a blackjack game before.

Certain places in Biloxi allow as well.

It's a rare rule.

I don't really see why casinos are so picky about it.... How many times does this actually occur?

My absolute favorite internet BJ game! Drawing to split aces is very valuable.
Much more so than being able to split them 3-4 times, like u say.

This rule is worth .07%
Yes to a BS player in a shoe game. In a single deck game it is worth less because of the comparative rarity of 3 out of 4 aces being in any 4 random cards.

To a counter RSA is worth more because we have a lot of money down when there are a lot of aces left, and we are also more likely to have 10's dropped on those resplit aces when we have a lot of money down.

Ya kinda like, How S17 effect's us less in positive count's due to excessive ten's. Actually this rule only effect's counters by -.16 opposed to -.20 for the BS player. Yahoo.
Also does anybody know that if unlimited draw is in effect[.+14]. Does this now become a mandatory split or is it still contingent upon the count. Also would re-splitting ace's make this rule even more valuable?

sounds like the double your 11 vs dealer 10. I would have to say that's the BS move that works out least for me.

Resplitting aces!

Where I work at the Crystal Bay Club you are allowed to resplit aces on the shoe game to make up to 4 hands. On the single deck game you are only allowed to split Ace's once. Almost every place that I have gambled in Nevada allows resplitting of aces if there is 2 or more decks. The rule to allow players to resplit is more common than to restrict it where I live. If you live in a place that has tight rules you might not be so lucky.

Perhaps giving away my identity

Once I was dealt 7 straight aces, followed by a 5. So I have 4 large bets out on the table with 4 hands that all together add up to a grand total of 12 with the dealer showing a nine. Dealer turns a 6, then hits a very pretty queen. Never was a doubt about that hand.

I think it is time for a break!

After a hand where you personally used up 7 straight aces I think it is time for a bathroom break or time to go eat dinner. Or if you have been playing for awhile time to cash out your chips and go home for the day! I would personally like to cashout on the note that I just used up 7 straight aces and won 4 hands because the dealer busted!

Or even better, track them in the shuffle that follows.
