AC Heat Questions

I've played in AC a number of times, and have mostly gone undetected (as far as I can tell), but have run into occasional heat.

Questions: Will your players card ever be "flagged" noting you are a potential AP?

I assumed my players card might have been flagged at Resorts, and Tropicana after being directly confronted (at Resorts) and having the deck cut (at Trop), so I avoided using my card a couple times. Then I used it at Trop to see what would happen, and nothing did. Same at Resorts later that day.

I also had the deck cut on me at Borgata on my last shoe on my latest trip there, but I haven't been back to see if there were any lasting effects. I'd sure hate to not be able to use a players card there as the comps I have been getting are insanely good.

Yes. If you don't believe me, go into Bally's and take a peek at into the pit. At any given time you'll see flyers with pictures sitting on the podiums. I recently walked into the pit next to the escalator (when it wasn't opened) and snatched up a pretty good 8 x 10 picture of me, complete with name, birthdate, and caption: "suspected card counter". The picture showed me playing a carney game at the BORGATA; which to me removed ANY doubt that they DO pass information around.

I can't be sure, but it may be time for you to start playing as a "refusal".

Cute and imaginative story i like it. Although i am not sure it belongs here. :)

My main question is about the players card. Does anyone know if your card can be flagged? (As in, they swipe the card at the table computer and it is noted right there that you are a suspected AP?

The Answer is Yes. I won't go into detail... But when they pull up your card info on the 'puter.. the data screen is usually replaced with something like "Confirmed Counter. Notify Security" I've seen it with my own eyes. :)

I have seen [at one A.C. store] the display reading "Evaluate Carefully" in red.

To further digress, I can assure the poster of the original question, that on numerous
occasions, swiping my player's card, has resulted in automatic action taken against me.

Recently, a casino shift manager was at my elbow BEFORE I could buy chips, meaning that
security had spotted me entering the casino, as I was not milling around before being seated.

My Borgata player's card number was also on the flyer, but they didn't have my Harrahs' card #, at least not yet.

I find it difficult to believe that you walked into a pit that was closed. Even the worse surveillance/security team would be all over you immediately. And to actually take something from that pit, regardless of what it was, well, you are damn lucky you didn't end up in jail. Very little reward for this enormous risk.

You're probably right. My partner was also amazed that I did it. But if you walked into a place of business and saw your picture on the counter, wouldn't YOU want to know what it was all about?

It's very doubtful that they'd have arrested me, though. They would then have to explain what THEY were doing with a picture of me, accusing me of something that they had no proof of. Let's just say we were BOTH in the wrong.

P.S. - That's not even CLOSE to the ballsiest thing I've ever done.

What would they have to explain? Is it illegal to have a picture of anyone?
As card counting isn't illegal, what does it matter if they suspect you of it?
Just because it is a picture of you,it wasn't yours and taking it was theft and they could easily have pressed charges if you'd been caught.
If someone had noticed it missing, a review of the tapes would have opened up a whole new can of worms.

Yes I agree, if that's a true story it was a ridiculous thing to do. What is the point? If you see a flyer with your picture on it, you know you are flyered. Stealing the flyer will give them an opportunity to arrest you which is something they are always looking for excuses to do to AP's anyway.

Despite the weak playing environment we have a lot of unique opportunities in AC; buggering it up by doing one of the few things you can get outright banned for... why?

I didn't say I was counting cards. I WILL say that I wasn't doing anything illegal. I won't go into any further detail; but it really WAS extremely important for us to find out what they knew.

You guys are right, though. I should have found a bum on the boardwalk & paid him ten bucks to do it for me.

You were holecarding 3CP, or perhaps Caribbean Stud, or one of two other carnival games. Yawn.

Brilliant. Then he gets caught, and keeps silent out of loyalty to you and your ten bucks. That's why all criminals recruit bums to do their dirty work, because they're trustworthy, competent, and reliable.

There's more to life than holecarding. Please direct any further guesses or inquiries via PM.

Anyway......
How did this discussion get to be about ME? My intent was to let the OP know that 1) The A.C. casinos DO input negative information into your players' club accounts, and 2) They pass the information along to other casinos. I sincerely apologize to the OP for allowing this thread to become so sidetracked.

In answer to the original question - absolutely.

When my player's card is swiped at Borgata it says on the screen, in red, Confirmed Skilled Player. I saw this screen at hotel check-in. I also know they passed the info to Harrahs as I got flat-bet at Harrahs Marina the first time I ever played there, as I sat down. This was a number of years ago.

Another data point, and a weird experience to boot . . . a few years ago after swiping my card at an A.C. store the pit boss approached the dealer as she was finishing her shuffle and said, loud enough for me to clearly hear, "Cut the shoe IN HALF." Needless to say I didn't hang around there long and actually avoided the place for a couple months. I then returned to "test the waters" (the place is pretty darn good for comps, too) and have never had a problem there since.
