Anyone thrown out of the Wendover Nugget?

I am new to the SLC area, and went to visit wendover to play, and I won almost $6000 in about 20 minutes. I was playing max bet $500 the whole time, playing just basic strategy. About halfway to the 6k, the pit boss pulled the dealer aside (there was only 2 people playing on the whole floor) and told them to deal one round, then reshuffle. I thought....'what the heck...' and the dealer just rolled their eyes saying 'you probably should leave soon...' I was like I will soon. I got up to $6k and the pit boss said you have to leave right at the table and never to come back or they will 'list me'. I asked the dealer what time they got off, and they said in 10 minutes, so since there were only 4 dealers working at the time, I threw them 2k in chips and said its been fun!. You should have seen the steam come off the pb. Has anyone been thrown out from sheer luck? I only lost one hand the entire run so I wasnt counting cards or anything.....btw this is my first post so glad to be here.....and Ken you inspired me to get into BJ. thank yoU!

well, it was july the 17th around 3 in the afternoon. I have been going to Rainbow ever since, and havent recreated that kinda luck. The pit boss was some older lady with dirty red hair....it would have been embarrasing if someone would have been there besides me. Also, being a pharmacist makes pretty good money and that was the only way I could get my last word in =0) Anyways, i am new to the board and just want to know if any people who go to wendover have this same thing happen?

What casinos do you currently play at, are they accepting applications for new dealers ? :cool2:

Oh you say your a pharmacist?? Perhaps you should stick to dispensing the drugs, and not taking them.

Yeah ummm since your play was -EV the whole time I would have held on to that 2k, especially since if you keep playing you'll eventually lose the other 4k (I tip like $1 every four hours and my play is always +EV  )

You tipped two thousand dollars?

...I threw them 2k in chips and said its been fun!.

If the rest of the post wasn't a joke, this line must be. If you wanted to give away two thousand dollars, why not give it to a charity or other good cause, not to dealers who probably hate you anyway?

The $6K win is certainly possible. Assuming no double downs or splits, the patron flat betting $500 would have had to win thirteen of fourteen hands he was dealt. The original poster stated he lost only one hand. Not an everyday occurrence, but certainly not impossible. What is strange that it would take about twenty minutes to deal those fourteen hands. Even with the constant shuffling at Wendover Nugget, it should have taken about five minutes. Maybe being in that dump just seemed like twenty minutes to the original poster.

The pit boss was some older lady with dirty red hair.

There is such a pit person on day shift at Wendover Nugget. She has a bad attitude, and can be quite nasty with little or no provocation.

It does not surprise me that Wendover Nugget would throw out a high-rolling ploppy. The place is a poorly-managed hellhole with almost no customers. It is barely above the Red Gutter among the five Wendover stores.

The three Wendover Peppermill properties are, by contrast, well-managed, with little visible sweat or patron harassment. The Peppermill properties would probably send one of their fine limos to Salt Lake City for this customer, and would be correct to do so.

Dr. Stack's friend?

Are you by chance the pharmacist that enabled the good Dr. Stack in SLC? I have heard he was in cahoots with a rich RPH that liked to gamble? Works at a pharmacy that starts with "H"?

Wendover Nugget is playable at the red chip level. It has been the best place for me when it comes to comps. Not every dealer preferential shuffles.

Thanks for standing up for me....I don't really need the money, and the dealers were rooting for me. They thought it was hilarious and the pit boss was fuming. I make enough to where the 2k isnt a big deal but to the 3 dealers on staff during that time it could mean alot.

Again, I only play for fun and have just started playing. I have moved on to the Rainbow where the pit bosses are much nicer. I am always there every saturday night in a black shirt and plaid tie. Anyone want to say hi, my name is Chris!

I think most of the questionable parts of your post have already been addressed but I will talk about your being thrown out for being lucky.
I happens to people every day in some sweat shop in Nevada where the average guy bets $5 but the lucky guy is betting significantly more. Does not matter if they think you are counting or actually know that you are not. Face it, if you were flat betting $500, you were not counting. They might have suspected you of hole carding but my strong impression is that you just skyrocketed past their very very low tolerance level. The grumpy pit already does not know how she will explain a 6K loss to her boss and is in fear for her job if she continued to let you play and you just kept adding to your total win. So she tossed you! It was, "get the hell out of here, your winning is ruining my pathetic life" And that is why you were tossed, you surpassed both the pits and the casinos tolerance level.

A 2K toke? Here is an area where LVBear and myself have some disagrement.
I toke modestly, he tends to not toke at all, but your toke is self destructive.
Understand that those dealers are part of the casino that offered the public a game where you could bet $500. You played by their rules and furthermore you flat betted which should give them the impression that you were playing the full time at a disadvantage. Yet they tossed you out. Rewarding the dealer part of that establishment gets you nothing, in fact you can not easily even return to say hello to those dealers. Also, if you won that much money in a half hour, you can even more easily lose that much money in a half hour and do you think there is any dealer in the world who would rebate 2K to you?
I think you threw the 2K to the dealers in a fit, to show up that pit lady and you know what? It does not matter to her a bit, her shift loss 6K, if you take it all or give a 1/3 to the dealers.
As an advantage player who has had relatives who have dealt (and been pits), do you know what, under those circumstances of your being tossed, those dealers expected from you? ZERO! And if you are the kind of person who cares if they like you or not, do not worry because the person the dealers would have been pissed at would have been their pit. A simple $25 tip to your last dealer actually would have been a surprise to him/her under these circumstances and they still would have been pissed at the pit. All you accomplished was throwing 2K away for nothing.
