The short answer is no. I am not sure if CP was referring to treatment at Indian locations, where as he has often mentioned, they play by their own rules or if he is fondly recalling th past days of yesteryear when the mob and good old boys ran things their own way. Today most casinos are run by corporations and in this era of lawsuits it just doesn't work that way any longer. In this modern day of technology everything and I mean everything is captured on video, and not just by the casinos. Almost everyone has a cell phone or device with video capability. It takes but a second to video someone or something and send it. And it does them no good to confiscate your phone. The images have already been sent out.BJLFS said:Someone had alluded to it in another thread.

Furthermore there is no reason you should even submit to backrooming. Unless you have committed some crime that they are arresting you for, they have no right to backroom you. In the event of a confrontation, immediately ask for a supervisor and make him aware that you know the rules and have already sent out the images of those illegally detaining you. Watch how quickly they do an about face and kick you out the front door.
This doesn't mean that the low level minimally paid, over aggressive, security 'personel' don't occasionally overstep their boundries. For some reason you give them a walkie talkie and uniform and $10 an hour and they think they are policemen. When and if this happens, like I said, insist on speaking to the supervisor.
Indian casinos, foreign countries and even cruise ship csinos are a whole different proposition. You are taking much greater risk in those stuations. I was speaking stricktly of land based public casinos in the US. Panther is our Native American Casinos expert, so I'll let him explain how the laws (or lack of) works there. :laugh:BJLFS said:Thank you.
But they might do it at Indian Casinos?
Thanks man!kewljason said:Indian casinos, foreign countries and even cruise ship csinos are a whole different proposition. You are taking much greater risk in those stuations. Cool. Then I can show them the Tae Kwon Do I learned. :joker:21gunsalute said:"Are casinos still beating up people in the back room?"
No, they usually beat people up and take their money right up front for all to see. And people go back for more anyway.
If they want to back room you do have the option to leave or do you have to go with them?creeping panther said:Players are still getting roughed up and beaten up on the casino floor,,in Vegas and Native properties. :yikes: Just give them the slightest of excuses.
Once you are being backed off, trespassed or physically herded into the Backroom a small spark can lead to ugliness and brutality.
You have far more protection in State Regulated casinos,,Native casinos have their own set of rules and being a Soverign State you are truly at their mercy and whims so tread very lightly when on the Rez.
CP
Thanks!! I'll take a look at those.kewljason said:Don't be scared. CP is just being overly dramatic for whatever reason. Especially when it comes to Vegas. Backoffs an barring are more an annoyance than a danger now a days. You won't be dragged into the back room where Samuel L Jackson is waiting with brass knuckles. That's movie stuff. It just doesn't happen now a days. Too many lawsuits have been won. I almost wish it would happen. I could use a big payday.
A couple good books on gambling law are
Blackjack and the Law by Rob Loeb
Gambling and the Law by I Nelson Rose
Also some links with much information on the bj21 site in the 'law' section.
oh yeah it was. my bad. Shows how impressed I was with that movie.BJLFS said:Thanks!! I'll take a look at those.
BTW that was Lawrence Fishburne ..........

I believe Grosjean was maybe 10 years ago, and the Venetian was maybe 2 years ago.NightStalker said:10/ 5years/ 1-2 ?
