Are there specialty counting schemes?

What I mean is, are there counting systems that tell you when it's advantageous to double down on hard 12, 13, 14, or even 15? Or are there systems that tell you when NOT to double down on ten or even eleven (because the count is too negative)? Wouldn't such a system be a practical asset, especially in games where double down is allowed on any two cards, such as in Double Attack BlackJack?

I don't know of any, but I'm sure one could be developed. Griffin gives the formulas for this in his book. The problem is that this system would be wildly inaccurate for most other plays so it wouldn’t be very effective overall. It could be used to enhance a regular card counting system (like side counting sevens with HiLo) but it wouldn’t add enough EV to be worthwhile.

I understand. I assume the reason that Double Attack BJ doesn't get much talk in the forums is because you can't really apply a counting system because the removal of all the tens makes the count too negative to begin with. I was trying to find a way to enhance BS for this game for two of my friends who like this game. I think it's a losing cause. Maybe a counting system could be devised for this game but I don't think any existing system will work. Also, it has it's own unique BS. For me, I'll stick to regular BJ.
