yeah and are you expecting Dubai to close up and sit there empty with a big for sale sigh on it?21forme said:The middle east money is from Dubai and you know what kind of shape they're in, right?
Half of tables CSM....HA...Vegas, the gambling mecca of the world:laugh:SystemsTrader said:Opened Dec 16th at mid-night or Thursday morning. I got there about an hour after opening and the place was packed, you couldn't move. The place is nothing special, I guess when they open a new casino which seems like one a week in Vegas they all just look the same after a while. In typical Las Vegas fashion the casino is in another time zone from the strip. Maybe I'm just getting old and cynical but I liked it when the casinos were actually right off the sidewalk. The place has a lot of tables, about half are shoes and the other half CSMs. The shoes were typical MGM rules and pen. I did not play at all just checked the place out. Maybe someone else can give a more accurate review.
Jason, you seem to be very bullish on city Centre.kewljason said:Well talk of going belly up in 6 months is just silly. They have middle east money behind it plus its already built now. lol I suppose they could have a ton of debt and need to restructure at some point, but City Center certainly isn't going anywhere. Will be there intact for a long time.
As for Blackjack. The $25 and up games might be playable. Depends on the penetration. I will need a few visits to determine that.
Yes you are right. Las vegas is a horrible place for an AP to spend any amount of time, or worse yet, reside parttime in. With 75 casinos located within the town and another 112 throughout the state, it is soooo dificult to find any playbale games. Not a freaking decent game to be found. 60-65 degrees in January and Febrauary is pretty hard to take as well. Let's see, which sweater should I wear today?? And what about when you are not playing? Enertainment galore. Tons of shows and nice restuarants, hiking beautiful red rock canyon area and boating on Lake Mead (that would be year round BTW), with spectacular Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Hoover Dam nearby.creeping panther said:Half of tables CSM....HA...Vegas, the gambling mecca of the world:laugh:
If you really want to play fine BJ it sure as hell ain't this screwey town.
No matter how pretty the place... if I don't feel I can beat the game, and I don't mean play for 30 minutes and run like hell to avoid the heat, then I say F### you vegas...half CSM...oHH boy, I just gotta get my ass to vegas...where it is warm...and no icky ice on the roads, no snow and freezing wind,, cheap hookers and nudie shows and real shi##y games....but hey man it is.......... vegas:vomit:

Not at all "bullish", Mr. T. I specifically stated I don't care for the design or long walk. All I said was that I found it to be a beautiful and brilliant complex. That said, it's all about blackjack for me and if the conditions aren't good, which I have yet to determine, you won't find me there.Mr. T said:Jason, you seem to be very bullish on city Centre.

The jury is still out. See how they perform in the next 3 or 6 months from here. There is a price war amongst the hotels in Las Vegas now and will they be one of the survivors. Their high ratio of hotel rooms vs casino space compared to their competitors do put them at a disadvantage to their competitors.

Or you could live in the midwest were the games are damn good and so is the entertainment and recreation.
I am just playing as well. Unforetunately, as we speak i am not enjoying the 65 degree weather but am on the east coast which at the moment resembles the midwest. I got back just in time for 18 inches of snow. (Smart move on my part, I know.) But on the plus side, makes for an empty AC, with much better than usual wonging opportunites, which is where I am headed now.creeping panther said:Just yankin your chain Bro':laugh:

That long walk may be a serious if not a fatal flaw in the set up. You seem to be very sure it will be around 6 months from now. Out of their mind, you said. Remember 6 months ago MGM was in danger of bankruptcy and now Dubai is in dire straits.kewljason said:Not at all "bullish", Mr. T. I specifically stated I don't care for the design or long walk. But regardless, anyone who thinks that it will be sitting vacant, boarded up and padlocked in 6 months is out of their mind. It will be there and operating a very long time.
Nothing wrong with LV. At least in my opinion. CP may have a different view. But it is the holidays and my friends and family are in Pa, so I returned for a week. Mother nature has just chosen this particular time to remind me what I will be missing in Jan and Feb. But all is not lost, as I said, this presents an additional opportunity in AC that I wasn't expecting. Maybe the next day and a half will make it all worthwhile.Abenzio said:Bad timing
Why would you want to return to PA & AC right now? What's wrong with LV? Don't tell me you come back for Resorts' New Year Eve 2010 Party! Just curious.
