Backed off

I see this term used a lot here. What exactly does it mean? How is it different than being banned from a casino?

Being backed off is usually a bit more polite than being barred. They will ask you not to play BJ anymore, but you will be welcome to play any other game.

If you are barred they will ask you to leave the casino and not return. They will read the Trespass Act and tell you that you may be arrested if you return. :(

Ouch!

So if they back you off do they record your name or anything or can you return some time later (like a year later) and hope they don't recognize you? With modern technology I'd imagine it's easy enough for a computer to pick you up from cameras.

We typiocally do return and play again (and again) at casinos who have backed of and/or banned us. zg
