Baisc Strategy

I'm heading out to Reno soon. I have not been there in years. I have been practicing with the strategy I found on blackjack tactics.com. What I need to know is do most Reno Casino's have where you can double only 10 or 11? And the dealer stands on ahrd 17 but hits on a soft 17?

I usually play at Circus Circus because in the past that is where I have the best luck but I see there are a few new casino's that I may want to check out.

Also are there blackjack tournaments in Reno? I was even thinking of trying Texas Hold Em.

Thanks

Thanks I'll look at that stategy.

I have a couple more questions. Is it better to play at multi deck tables? I usually play single deck.

When counting when the count is + then I should bet more but how high I mean if it is say +2 should i bet more or just a normal bet?

Is insurance a sucker bet? I have never taken insurance but of course I am a low stakes casual player so if I lose it isn't much.

Thanks

This is a great forum and I am still reading through all the threads.

The insurnance bet is a very important bet for a card counter to make. The correct count to take insurance will depend on what counting system you are using, but the count for HiLo is discusses in the Frequently Asked Questions thread. There is also some information about betting strategies there, as well as the Free Counting Resources thread.

Thank you Sonny. I'm checking those links now.

I'm trying to decide when to go to Reno. I will probably go in a month or so that way I can practice counting and really getting the strategy down.

I am a low stakes player but I have won $200 I know not much but it was a $3 or $5 table. Plusw between me and my hubby we got plenty of food comps and ate at some of the better places.
