Basic Strategy Matrix Question

Hello, Everyone

I'm new here and trying to learn BS. I obtained a casino report in order to view the rules of the casinos I'll be visiting (Atlantic City) and used the BS Engine located on this site to generate a chart.

1. The casino report didn't state whether Double Any 2 Cards/Double 9,10,11 Only/Double 10,11 Only is allowed or not.

2. In addition, No Surrender/Late Surrender/Early Surrender wasn't specified.

The exact rules from the casino report are: 8D S17 DS (Borgata)

The matrix I generated is here:

http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bseprintchart.php?Color=With+Color&numdecks=8&soft17=s17&dbl=all&das=yes&surr=ns&peek=yes

I selected "Double Any 2 Cards" & "No Surrender."

Am I on the right track here?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes; but you need to be aware that, by and large, Atlantic City rarely offers a game with good penetration.

Furthermore, most low stakes tables in A.C. are H17 - not S17

The pointlessness of playing BJ armed with only Basic Strategy leads me to
always assume that noobie posters will soon try to become Advantage Players.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm definitely interested in becoming an Advantage Player at some point however, by reading this forum I learned that I need to fully memorize and proficiently execute basic strategy before I even think about card counting.

I did notice on the casino report that a lot of low stakes games are H17 in AC. I'm going to modify my BS to reflect this.

You can practice blackjack basic strategy for free on any one of a million free blackjack games on the Internet. I think the FAQ thread in the card counting forum has a link to the best ones.

Don't waste your money at the casino practicing unless you need to.

Print off a basic strategy card and have it sitting in front of you at the table. It will make a handy reference while learning.

Make up a set of "flash cards" to carry around with you,
so that you can practice until you can do it in your sleep.
