First of all, there's no facility in the vBulletin software for me to examine user's private messages. In my opinion that's a good thing. Still, because the messages are stored in the database, I could examine them if needed. But I hate to open that can of worms.
Nonetheless, for future reference, please assume that private messages could potentially be examined by me if the need arises. If that makes you uncomfortable about particular PM content, then don't send the PM.
Since I added the particular mentions of PM abuse to the forum guidelines, I'll have to revise my rule to the following: I won't view any PMs unless I need to do so to investigate a claim of abuse.
So, everyone is on notice. If someone reports you as having sent an abusive PM, your PMs will be examined by me. If the claim is accurate, you can expect to be banned. If the claim isn't accurate... well, don't make inaccurate claims.
