im looking at picking up a few more blackjack books in the coming days and i was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions. I've currently got Blackbelt in Blackjack and Blackjack Attack 3rd ed. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. i'm looking at these ones specifically:
Blackjack Bluebook II (renzey)
Blackjack Blueprint (blaine)
Blackjack For Blood (bryce carlton)
Professional Blackjack (stanford wong)
Theory of Blackjack, 6th ed (peter griffin)
Play Blackjack like the pros (blackwood)
Blackjack Secrets (stanford wong)
Burning the tables in las vegas (ian anderson)
The Counter (blackwood, just as a good read)

any other recommendations would be accepted.

Blackjack Bluebook is a great book for beginners or intermediate players.
Griffins book is very math orientated and I found it hard to follow. If you have an average mathmatetical background, you might want to skip it.
Blackwood and Blaines were good reads, but didn't really add much to my game.

You have Most of the Best Books Listed

The first four on your list are all xlnt.
Each has something to offer a newbie.
Million Dollar Blackjack by Uston is good, too.

I just purchased BJA3 and Griffin.

You can save some money by ordering from
Half.com . I got some of these books for
less than $5 delivered. All in new or xlnt shape.
Just search for 'Blackjack' , under books, at half.com .

Blackjack Bluebook II is an introductory book that is definitely not as technical or mathematically oriented as the two you mentioned. The counts it introduces is kiss1-3, which I think are similar to K0. The best part of the book is its chapter on how to make money on the other players at the table through side bets and partnership splits. I found it to be a creative approach to an aspect of the game most books ignore.

The ones I’ve read:

Blackjack Blueprint (blaine) – I think you would really enjoy this book. It has some great information on setting up a team as well as a little on sequencing and tracking.

Blackjack For Blood (bryce carlson) – Good book, but it focuses on the Omega systems. If you’ve read other books then you probably know most of the basic information in here.

Professional Blackjack (stanford wong) – If you use HiLo you should own this book. Otherwise, just read it at the library.

Theory of Blackjack, 6th ed (peter griffin) – An amazing book, but it’s all math. None of it will directly make you a better BJ player, but it may help you understand the math behind the game. It won’t tell you how to play but it can help you to find ways of answering difficult questions. If you took Beyond Counting and removed all the parts about how to apply the math to the game, you’d have this book.

Blackjack Secrets (stanford wong) – It has some good little tricks that you might not have thought about. If you can find a cheap copy then go ahead a get it.

Burning the tables in las vegas (ian anderson) – The BP camouflage bible.

I would also include:

Million Dollar BJ (Uston) – It’s all about team play. Good information, good stories and you can usually find a copy for like $8 or less.

Basic BJ (Wong) – Covers just about every crazy rule variation and wacky strategy you’ll ever need to know.

You can also find reviews of many BJ books here:

I've read everything on that list - they are all good books. If you are only intending to buy a couple i'd go for Professional Blackjack and Play Blackjack Like the Pros.

Blackjack Bluebook II

I think BJBBII is an excellent book for any player at any level of play. I've read that the difference in EV from the more complicated 4 level counts and the simpler 1 level counts is fractions of a penny per hand or even per dozens of hands. So, why drive yourself crazy with complicated counts (where there is obviously also more opportunity for error) when the simpler count gets the job done nicely? I use the Kiss III count and believe me it gets the money.

Thanks for all the great responses. So would you guys say that Blackjack Bluebook II is the best book to learn about taking advantage of other players doubling for less and splitting and what not? I would really like to learn how to take advantage of this cause i play with a lot of young kids at the table that change their strategy based on how much money they have left. thanks

Truthfully, I haven't read all the books on the list, but of the ones I have read, BJBBII, PBLP, BTLV,PB, BJBBII is the only one that adresses this subject in any detail. However, all 4 of these books are excellent.
