Blackjack simulation research

Hi all.

I'm new to this forum, and generally a neophyte with blackjack. I'm preparing a presentation for my data management course on a comparison of several different strategies. The method I'm using is a computer simulation under varying conditions to test the effciency of a particular strategy. I was hoping somebody could explain the elements that make up a blackjack strategy and a simple way of expressing a particular strategy. Also, any information on popular strategies to compare, or different types of strategies would be greatly appreciated.

sincerely, Blackjacksimulation

Why was it that when I went to school one couldn't take Blackjack for college credit?!

Narrowed my question somewhat

Thanks for the replies.

I've got another more specific question, and this relates to basic strategy versus card couting versus Composition dependent strategies. Since I'm doing my simulation via a computer, I need to know how much information about a particular play needs to be taken into account, and a composition dependent strategy would cause me considerable grief. I'm wondering if there are situations where a composition dependent strategy would be more capable of taking into account information than a cardcounting strategy, or if it could be considered as a "looser" cardcounting?

Betting

Hi again,

This may very well be an impossible question to answer , but I was wondering if there was a general way to determine the correct betting strategy at a given point based on the count? or is it more general than that?

Yes and no. A basic strategy CD strategy without counting is inferior to counting. OTOH, a CD strategy that includes counting is superior.

Yes. You are reinventing the wheel. There are Sims available to do everything you have mentioned.
