Borgata was always too good for AC

As the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement tries to forces MGM out of AC, whether Boyd buys out MGM's share of Borgata or someone else does, the most likely result will be the decline of both the property and the blackjack conditions at AC's leading property. :(

I too fear this Kewl. Just as Harrah's wrecked Bally's, Caesar's and Showboat, I fear this will happen to the Borgata.

Don't forget Claridge, pre HET they offered surrender on their games and had 4 deck in the HL room.

But you know, I can't fault MGM for selling the Borg when there is going to be much more competition soon.

Why do you think playing conditions will change? Granted, casino executives are a stupid bunch overall, but if what they're doing is working, why change it?

Harrah's Clone

"If it's not broken why fix it" is a saying that Harrah's has never HEARD of! Any property Harrah's gets it's hands on, it makes into a clone of every single other Harrah's owned casino as far as playing conditions and rules. Harrah's would take Borgata and turn it into the piece of dogpoop like every other Harrah's owned casino and the (blackjack) customer base would flee elsewhere.

I will refrain from going into the long list of casinos that Harrah's has bought out and then moulded to suit their liking, since you likely know them all without me rattling it off again. Is this a rumor or is there any factual basis to this? Harrah's, who is hurting financially? Did I just read all that right? After they chase off enough business from being the douchebags that they are, they can hurt financially even WORSE! Comps? GONE! Decent games and rules? GONE!!!! Customers? Off in Pennsylvania, Delaware or Connecticut and in other words..GONE!

I doubt Harrah's would buy the Borgata, simply because they have stated that they don't want any more exposure to the tough AC market than they already have. They're much more excited about new opportunities in PA and elsewhere. Plus, Harrah's knows they're not about having nice trendy properties; they're about loyalty and slots.

That doesn't mean another owner will not pull pages from the Harrah's playbook, however.
