Last year I added up all my losing sessions and none of my winning sessions and I lost over $2,900 in a about a four month period. I tell the dealers sometimes that I have lost over $2,900 playing blackjack this year so I can say I have lost money playing blackjack. When I lose a few hundred dollars during a session I make a point of talking to the pit bosses before I leave saying that your dealers are nice but the cards are rough can you believe that I just lost $450! The point is if varinace is bad to you that you should capatilize on it and make the pit boss remember you as a loser. Don't give up your oportunity by quietly leaving the tables. Ploppies make commets to the pit bosses all the time about how much they are losing. It might even get you better comps, because big losers are rewarded by the casino.
However if I win I quitly make a partial cashout and take some left over chips to buy-in at another casino so they hopefully record me for less than my full win. At one casino they have booked me as a loser when I'm really winning overall there.

I doubt if the casino listens to what you say. It's all in the computer. Comps are based oon whats in the computer and not what you say. Do you really work at a casino you strike me as a naive person to be working there. I bet you have bought some swampland in your lifetime !

I doubt it would affect comps much, but it might affect heat. I mean, if a pit boss remembers you as a regular loser then he's not going to be like, "Yeah, I need to watch this guy." He would probably be like, "Oh, there's ol' Joe, at it again. When's he going to learn?" And then turn his attention to more important matters.

Blackjack players have reps as whiners anyway, so you'd want to do it just to fit in. Too bad it's so cliche.

I have, hower, taken a greater interest in insuring that the floorman correctly marks my entire loss in the computer when I'm done playing.

I actually prefer bragging about my biggest losses to friends. It's almost as much fun as bragging about my biggest wins. And currently, my biggest loss is still a good deal more than my biggest win, so that makes it more attention-getting.

I find this true as well. I used to tell people only about my big wins and they thought card counting was some magical thing. But now i just like to talk about my biggest losses cause i love the reactions. Most people cant believe it when i tell them how much i've lost/won in one day. Rhino you have my sympathies, as my biggest loss is only half of what my biggest win is.

My two biggest loses in the last 5 months are!

Coming in at # 2 is $660 at the Biltmore and that lose came in only 20 minutes right before I went to work. My # 1 biggest lose in the last 5 months was at the Siena losing $740 in a few hours of play. Those two loses alone where nearly half of all my losing sessions in $$ amount. Even though I had a lot more losing sessions than that.

The thing about the computer record though is that it is based on what the PC enters. These guys are typically too dumb and lazy to get it right based on observation, so with some good acting you can convince them that you have lost more than you actually did.

I was in Terribles awhile back and a guy was trying to take advantage of their big loss rebate.Evidently,if you lose over $1000 in a day, they rebate you 10%.The pitboss was in no hurry to do this and the guy was getting very agitated. Finally, the PB verified the guy bought in for over $1,000 but said now they had to review the tapes to make sure the money was actually lost, not just pocketed.Guy stormed off,and I don't know if he ever got his rebate.

True to a point it is based on what they enter. One time my rating per hand was way down I complained after the session. I told the pit critter didn't you know I have been playing black for 2 hours ? They had me rated at about $75 per hand. He told me they would look at the tapes. After looking at the tapes an adjustment was made to $175. I bitched because I was checking out and needed the comps. The prof is in the pudding and not what you say. If the tape did not support the $175 it would have been $75 no matter what I said or lost.

Tapes arent always reviewed.

Once I asked the pit boss how much I'm in for because I didn't think that the pit boss heard the dealer when I bought in for the second time. She said that she had me in for $400 and I told her that I was in for $500 she said o.k. and marked me down for $500. Which by the way was true I was really in for $500. The pit bosses are the ones that enter information into the computor it is not done automatically or scanned in by the chips at the casinos I play at. Some casinos call into the pit what you cash out if you cashout a big amount. I believe that you could use that information to your advantage if you are playing at a table with people betting the same color chips as you. You pocket a few chips than cash out and you cash out what the pit sees you take with you plus maybe a couple of dollars more and take a few hundred in chips to another casino to buy in with foreign checks that way the pit writes you down for a smaller win or puts you down for a loss.
