Buffets may become a thing of the past?

It would be perhaps even easier to get their people into food service jobs and poison entire banquets. They could target Christian and Jewish religious events, veterans associations, major industry conventions. My bet is that they would target industries because then they could make their money short-selling the stock of companies they target, because that's all this is really about anyway.

I am sure many of our members work in or have access to labs of all kinds.
When I worked at a medical reference lab in the mid to late 80s', the "store room" was COMPLETELY unsecured. One gallon containers of crystalline sodium cyanide were there for the taking.
Yet the controls in the toxicology lab (controlled substances) were kept under lock and key. I wonder if internal protocols and safe-guards have been implemented since 9/11 ??
Very worrisome indeed.

P.S. a comped buffet is over-rated, just ask my gut:flame::laugh::laugh:

Absolutely AM... perfect service industry gigs... and have we noticed how many Indo- Pakistani workers there are in the health care field ?
P.S. my CCU nurses (of different ethnicities) saved my life after mitral valve replacement.

Guess my point is ...many good decent people the world over... too many evil individuals that will find their "common ground"... plenty of government to referee by fiat everything in between... then what ...
Oh yeah, as AM mentioned... money, power, influence

Excess worry is NOT a good thing. But to pretend that there's NO THREAT AT ALL is even worse.

BTW; ALL of the things you've described have already happened, and are still happening in Europe, in the Middle East; and all around the world.

Las Vegas has to be considered a target because it is distinctly American in so many ways, it represents individual freedom and it would be difficult to evacuate and protect people in the event of an attack.

It would also be too easy for the apologists and Fifth Column among us to rationalize the attack and not retaliating for it. Barack Obama has already badmouthed Las Vegas. And if terrorists poisoned buffets, Michelle Obama would probably say we brought it on ourselves by overeating.

AP's are the reason:whip: casinos have such bad rules, because we keep winning! If it wasn't for us bad people,:whip: innocent ploppies would be allowed to lose :cry:with better rules and penetration. Why can't we just be satisfied with playing our hunches like everybody else?! You know and I know that specific Obama sound bite was taken out of context like it always is in the media.

We should get you a show. Like "The Automatic Monkey Factor" with special segments like "no banana zone."

Hey now, this is thread lock inducing material.

I'm not taking sides on this, but doesn't it seem strange that Oscar Goodman, mayor of Las Vegas, an Independent and former member of the Democratic Party, who considered running for the Democratic nomination for the senate in 2005, saw the President's words in an unfavorable light. I'm just saying... it doesn't seem like a partisan only interpretation.

If you listen to his COMPLETE statements on Las Vegas, you'll find that in CONTEXT, his comments are MORE damaging to the city that even the MEDIA can portray. It matters not that the guy suffers from diarrhea of the mouth at times, the damage was done; Las Vegas convention business has fallen DRAMATICALLY in the last couple of years, and it can EASILY be argued that the POTUS's statements did not help.

Rather than just repeating the White House talking points, maybe you should at least listen to the soundbites, and decide for YOURSELF. I don't see how any reasonable person could possibly conclude that either statement was anything OTHER than Obama advising people to stay away from Vegas:
