the wizard lists these games with a basic strategy and a HE of .5%

The point basicly is to guess if the next card is higher or lower

in card sharks the tie wager is 10 to 1 and 40 to 1 for aces

think this is beatable with counting and a side count?

the next thing would be actually finding this game

On the slowing down of the B J game.

I do not think that you will ever see this sidebet.
It was quite unpopular.

Of course, as is so often the case, the house advantage of .50% is keyed to a basic strategy that is unknown to the patrons of the casino.

the real edge is obviously several times that !

If it wasn't, the house would lose money collecting and paying off many $1 wagers while slowing down the game.

I avoid playing BJ at a table that offers side bets because of this effect.

Catch-a-Wave is an absolutely beatable game. However, I have not seen a Catch-a-Wave table in years and I suspect it might have completely disappeared off the face of this earth.

Card Sharks has a much higher house edge, 2.09% for 8 decks and 1.78% for 6, according to the wizard. Card Sharks may be beatable with a good amount of work, but I think for the same amount of effort one would do better with a decent blackjack game. I have also not seen much of this game and the wizard states: " The MGM Grand in Las Vegas had the game for a short time in 2006. Foxwoods has offered the game for years but I have an uncomfirmed report that they took it out. I also have an uncomfimred report that it is available at the Pala in California (4 decks)."

Correct, Foxwoods had Catch A Wave and I started analyzing it, oh, about a month before they took it out. :flame: I believe it was their invention so you won't likely see it elsewhere. Their Card Sharks table is also a long time gone.
