Cash Offers from Casinos

Hey guys,

I played at a casino in Indiana for a couple days a few months ago and I just got an offer in the mail for $210 cash that can be redeemed about once a week in October.

I am going to drive there and claim my $210 for Saturday and then wait until midnight and then claim my $210 for the next week.

I have gotten a lot of $10-$50 offers but never one like this.

Does anyone often get these kind of large cash offers and then go there just for the sake of grabbing the cash? I wouldn't dare go near the BJ table at this place but I'm making the drive just for the $$.

You might want to call the casino and find out when their "day" starts. A lot of places it's 6 AM.

They're just giving you $210 cash every week?

How much have you played there in the past? I find it hard to believe it's just cash with no play needed. It's +ev just to make the drive there and back without playing a single hand. Think of it as a part time job for driving. The breakeven point for me is 250 miles weekly before my blackjack hourly win rate is greater than the hourly "win rate" of this promotion including the driving hours and cost of gas.

Why don't you just give up 2 nights of sleep in October and make the overnight trip. Even if you feel like the game is unplayable, you could try playing it if there's a little bit of positive EV by backcounting (unless it pays 6:5 in which case don't even sit down)

Sounds like a quite nice offer. Just beware fine print; I have gotten mailings that were very sparse on listing terms and conditions and only the voucher in the store had all the limations. But a phone call ahead of time certainly solves that.

Yeah the offer says I can claim $210 in free cash or chips and there is this coupon in my little packet of offers for each week in October.

I was slightly confused about the times so I called and the offer ends at 6am on Saturday and starts again 6am Sunday. So my plan to show up for 10 mins and claim my $$ was foiled but if I stay for a day I can get both.

To TenSplitter: I played this casino very hard for about 3 days in a row spreading from about one hand of 10 to 2 hands of 300 for maybe 8 hours per day.

Offers get much bigger than that especially if you lose, are a new player, and the pit has given you a poor skill rating.

So I guess they must have recorded your bets when you were betting the max, giving you 8 hours of $300 bets. That makes sense.
If it's based on skill level, wouldn't we all be classified as highly skilled since we play well enough to get banned? But if the pit sees you split tens against a six with a $300 bet and coincidentally get crappy cards on each split ten, then you might get a poor skill rating.
