Casino offers phony basic strategy chart

On Prairies Edge Casino’s website they offer not only the house rules, except number of decks, but also a basic strategy chart.

(Dead link: http://www.prairiesedgecasino.com/blackjackrules.htm)

Rules Summary: S17 DOA DAS

(Dead link: http://www.prairiesedgecasino.com/bjguide.htm)

However after reading the chart I realized it’s complete garbage. Besides the omission of most soft hands the chart isn’t for S17, DOA, DAS, it’s actually for 2 deck, H17, D10,11 No DAS. This is one of the most underhanded tricks I’ve ever seen, offering an abridged basic strategy chart but not for the game the casino offers.

Has anyone else ever run into this sort of thing? Is it a common casino practice?

I have never seen a strategy card on a casino's website until you pointed this one out. Many casinos sell strategy cards in their gift shops. I have never bought one from a casino, but I've heard of casinos selling cards that do not match their rules. The most common being a casino that allows double after split, but selling charts for games that do not allow it.

I'm not suprised at all by this.

Might Be Good Cover...

to play with a casino BS card in your hand, but not follow it, if it's wrong!
They'll think you're a novice with one of those cards in hand.

It might be a legitimate error, for I'm not sure the typical casino decision maker knows that there are different basic strategies for different games. The salary/IQ ratio of a casino exec approaches that of a cop.
