Penn National announced that the casino at Charlestown racetrack would begin table games in July. The casino is beng renamed the Hollywood Casino at Charlestown and would include blackjack, craps, and roulette in addition to the 5,000 slots already there.
One would expect that it will draw customers from the Washington DC and Baltimore metro areas as both are fairly easy drives.

One hour drive for me. If, and its a big if, the games are decent (pen, rules, adequate number of tables, hours), it's "Hasta la vista, Atlantic City!"

Excellent! It looks like we may be entering into an age of opportunity for East Coast blackjack, with all the new games opening up this year.

Isn't that the truth. More opportunities to avoid wearing out my welcome :)

Are you within driving distance of Charlestown, Chef?
It's probably not a whole lot closer to me than AC, but we do spend a good bit of time in Baltimore where friends live.

Options are nice :joker:

I'm not getting my hopes up with that place. I went there last year to check it out on the way home and it's a dump compared to the AC casinos. I'm going to be surprised if they have good rules since they pretty much will have the entire DC/Baltimore/VA market.

Yeah, I am wondering where they're going to put it. They have very little space as it is, and like you say, it's a dump compared to AC.

If they want to get rid of all their slot machines and put the tables there that's fine by me. :) The place also reeks of cigarette smoke.

That's the first thing I hated about the place.

But they had a great change machine. Last time I was there, the change machine was paying off. As I recall, you put in a hundred and get back 6 twenties, or something like that. It's been a long time. They eventually put it out of order.

The slots were poor, too. I don't remember any VP machines.

yeah they didn't have any VP when I was there. That's a nice deal you got there lol. Kind of reminds me of a ummm AP move I used to do at Resorts on one of their slot machines.
