comps disappearing

I have noticed that some of the places I play more often than others went from sending me free rooms constantly and lots of other little comps to the point now where I haven't gotten anything sent to me in a while from a couple of them. It is making me a little paranoid that they may know/think something and wondering if I should just start playing not rated if I go there again. I don't think i'm recognized enough to where playing unrated would raise anymore suspicion than playing unrated already brings on its own. I have pretty much played at the same level since i've been playing at these places.

On the optomistic side, do casinos just stop sending you free comps once they know you come back anyway or possibly they just send out more comps at certain times than others? Or is it more likely they've noticed something and hit some button in their computer to say don't send this person anything? I'm just imagining walking in next time and using my card and immediately being asked to leave which wouldn't be that great.

I recently noticed at a casino in Vegas, not going to name specifically, however, its in big time debt, would not offer me my rooms for the weekend, first time that i would have to pay for a room, however, stayed at a friends condo on the strip, even better:grin:

Comps can be very seasonal. As an example, Atlantic City is much more generous in winter than in summer. Vegas sends comps when they need to fill rooms.
As a rule, marketing departments have no idea what the gambling or security departments have on a player.

Great info Shadroch, thanks

I agree, seasonal. There are times they lavish me with comps I can't believe I'm getting, and other times I have trouble getting a glass of water at the same store.

At smaller sotres, it could be related to your W/L record of late. A few months ago, one place was giving me $75/week cash. I had lost about 4K there the previous month. Last month, I got $10/week there with about the same play, difference being I won 4K the previous month.

I agree with others Revrac, it is somewhat seasonal but it could also be based on you being just a table game player. Try burning a few dollars through the slots and see if that doesn't up your offerings. Caution, video poker will not generate the same comps as say another typical slot machine.

It is seasonal. The room offers in July are not as good as even June in AC. Probably different in LV.

But slots have much greater house edge. I go with VP.

Agreed. But if he was to run say $100.00 through regular slots, then he would probably more than make up for it in comps.

Also try actually calling the casino. Even though the mailer might say one thing, they might actually have more rooms available than they anticipated at any given time. Did this myself a few days ago and worked out well

Comp is short for complimentary. Usually means free, as in free rooms, free meals, etc.
