Creative uses for a green chip?

Okay, let's say that my max bet is $250. And let's say there's a bunch of doubledeck games around town where the table minimum is $25.

If I spread $25-$250, that would seem to be a 10x spread, which seems excessive for doubledeck. However, $50-$250 would only be a 5x spread, which would seem to be insufficent (penetration usually isn't very good).

So, there seems to be some opportunity to do some bet variation at the low end of the spectrum. Any suggestions for things to do to make it fun or dopey-looking?

So a 10x spread is excessive for DD, but OK for SD?:whip: I'm confused.
Seriously though, you can have have a lot more flexibility if you simply add a nickel to your min. bet and then ramp to $60-90-125 x 2, effectively putting you at a 1:8+ spread without batting an eye.

I don't think 10x is excessive for 2D with a decent act...BUT what you can also do is go 5x (50-250) and play every other hand in the minimum zone. zg

Ya, this looks real stupid.

Use a 1:10 every other shoe, with a 1:6 on the odd one. Or alternate the spreads youve mentioned. This should have them bouncing off the walls.;)

I was toying around with the idea of implementing some dopey progression system using red chips. Which I would stack on top of a single green chip. The dope red chip progression system, whatever it was, would still work in parallel with the "real" bet movement, which would be in all green chips.

On the plus side, it would invoke continuous bet size changes, and would probably look dopey. On the downside, I don't know if it would impart any real cover. Plus, there's a chance I'd make it too complicated to where I wouldn't even understand it.

Do you mean drop the small bet from $50 to $25 sometimes, or do you mean keep the bet at $50, and just sit out every other hand?

I guess the real coup would be pulling that off while playing heads-up.

Maybe I can request the dealer just deal to himself?

At 25.00 Tables I will get 100.00 in red and during all play including the negative counts I change my bet amount constantly, capping with one red, and then two, back to none on top of my green chip, playing the reds as if I am parlaying my bets. When the count spikes I just add more greens while capping with at least one red. I can not tell you how well it works, because I have never been backed off yet. A dealer in Tunica Saturday did comment to me several times, that I was raising my bet at the right time. Really not certain if he knew I was counting.

you and me can alternate hands!

i'll play one, you play the next etc :)

you could use a $50-$250 spread, betting $25 when the count tanks and you wait for the next shuffle. or if they reshuffle when you stand up, then stand up.

green play

Hey Rhino
If you havent already, you should seriously consider reading Andersons book "Burning the Tables in Las Vegas". I just finished it. A excellent section on green chip play, along with his cover for black play(which you could employ)is a real eye opener. It is a complete approach that I am going to take as much from and fine tune for my own game. I really dont want to get into details, but, if you like, you can pm me. A truely wonderful read.

Don't forget Zg, that there's a different BS for flashing dealers.
