CVBJ does not have UAPC

I just got this package today and am excited about practice but I did not see a place to put in Uston 3 level as my counting system. I suppose I should just choose any other 3 level system with an ace side count?

I tried to call the 800 but it was too late for today.

If you use UAPC you have to set it up.

Thats easy to do. I try to explain it.

Open up CVBJ, go menu, bottom left.

Click strategies, playing - simple

Attach playing startegy pops up, go to define/ edit strategy

click create new strategy

click basic strategy, click complete basic, and in the box on the left enter your strategy name... UAPC or what ever you choose, click Init

to make it simple in this screen click "single"

at the top click counts... enter the card tags.

insure tab. enter your insurance index

click tables...
now go through each index you use and enter it hand by hand

when your done with each hand type and you do all the types click ok

and then exit.

Then it should go back to your play screen and at the top should be the name of your strategy that the practice is using.

Hope this helps you out.

Thanks for your valuable time spent in answering my question. If you are ever in Denver I can get you a Starbucks or a Guiness Stout beer.

Not included for copyright reasons. Uston doesn't answer my calls for some reason.:) Sludikoff never gave me permission since he sold his own version of CV he called Uston Verite. However,

Uston and Revere strategies can be installed as user strategies in CV by clicking on http://www.qfit.com/StrategyUpdate.msi. Just buy the book first.

I am curious however why the system has to know what strategy you are using because wrong should be wrong and right right regardless of the method you use. Maybe it is because the different strategies are not all the same across the board and qfit can tell you if you are deviating from what you are trying to achieve. It would be interesting to see on which moves the more precise systems made a better choice than the less effective systems (strategies).

The download hooked up to my new cvbj sweet and simple, thanks, it is a great program and fun.

Well, yes, theoretically any counting system deviates from "perfect" play for simplicity's sake. But if the software only judged your play based on deviations from "perfect" play rather than based on deviations from your chosen system, it wouldn't be of nearly as much use to you as a practicing tool.

Or am I not getting what you're saying?

You got it and that helps, thanks. The system is fun to use and it caught a little error I think I often make at 14 v 10. I have only played a few rounds and want to have it watch my betting, I am still setting it up.

Take care.
