CVBJ Questions

I just ordered CVBJ and realized theres a demo you can try out for free so I downloaded it and did some of the drills. It said I made two mistakes which I do not understand.

First, it said I made an error by surrendering my 8,8 against dealers A.

Second, it said I made an error by doubling my A,3,2,A (soft 17) against 6.

How are these mistakes? (I believe I have it set to 6D, dealer hits S17)

Another question I have is about the indexes. I have learned Wong's indexes in Professional Blackjack but realized the default indexes are slightly different. What do you guys recommend? Should I stick with Wong's or learn another set? Thanks for your help!

You might have it set to S17, which would explain the 88 v A scenario. I'm confused about the A23A hand. Do you have rules enabled where you can double on any number of cards? And as far as indices go, I believe Wong's were originally calibrated for 4D games with slightly different rules than what you tend to see these days. The latest indices from Wong are included, but if you need to customize them, you can create your own playing strategy.

Apparently its time for my morning coffee. I don't know what I was thinking by trying to double with more than two cards. Thanks for clearing that up! Both my errors make sense now.

Are the latest Wong indices for 6D? Should I go with those or is another table more accurate?

I would tend to trust Qfit's numbers for Wong Hi-Lo, but I personally have a custom playing strategy for H17 6D Hi-Lo using 33 indices that I got from Exhibit CAA. Did you memorize the S17 numbers from Prof. BJ?

I memorized the H17 chart because I currently only have enough $ to play at $5 tables. I don't believe theres too many S17 $5 tables around haha.
