Dealers letting you re-do Action

Hey guys.

I have only played in one casino, and that is an Indian casino in Michigan and I've probably played there like 5 or 6 times.

Now sometimes when I play, actually ALL the time when I play, there comes times when I or someone Im playing with will make a play that they may not have really wanted to make. This may be when we're tired or not paying attention and we may like hit a 12 against a 15 or stand with a 16 against a 10.

Now, my question is:

When I have seen this, if you make some sort of indication that that isnt what u wanted to do, they will stop and ask you if thats really what you want. Does this happen at all casinos?

For example, I will have played perfect basic strategy for 4 hours and then I will stand on a 16 against a 9 at 3am in the morning, and the dealer says "wow, thats not like you. Are you sure?" And I'll say hell no I want to hit, and they will let me.

Is this normal? At others casinos is it whatever you say first is binding?

Thanks guys.

Yep, I've seen dealers pause on questionable plays. Some times merely a brief glance, other times a full-on question. It usually seems pretty well-intentioned.

And then you have the dealers that pretty much play for you on the obvious calls, which kind of irks me.

Yep, the dealers who are humans and not robots do ask on questionable plays, especially if they like you and you aren't obnoxious to them. But this isn't re-doing, it just them confirming. The ones that I don't like is the real picky ones that have to ask if you really want to stay on 20 and need you to be obvious about it.. how annoying.

Yeah I had a dealer once that basically refused to let me Split 8's against a 10. She was like no dont do it no its a bad move!!

Then I did and ended up breaking even instead of losing, so i showed her :D

I suppose if you play long enough, you'll see all sorts of strange things. On one occasion,I had a $5 tip out for a dealer(she was just so entertaining) and got a BJ.I was going to take even money so she'd win, but she checked, and then told me not to take even money, she didn't have it.She also told the PB to get lost, that he made her nervous when he came around.

Dealers often give advice. The Casino wants people to feel comfortable at the table. The first time I played BJ I was intimated at the table but quickly became comfortable because I had a nice dealer. Now it's all I play at the Casino.
