use a break even, slightly loosing, or even slightly winning spread at one casino for major comps such as airfare and hotels and then play unrated at other joints that you can get the money from? With the high prices of travel these days i would think this would be a good way to minimize the costs of a vegas, ac, or gulf coast trip. The swings would be bad spreading $500 - $1000 in a game but in the end things should work themselves out. Am i right to assume that primarily only purple chip players would get airfare comped? Any thoughts?

Harrahs will occasionally offer me junkets from NY to NO or to Laughlin,free airfare included.I can't even spell prple,let alone afford to play it.I've also recieved a few offers of airfare and three nights for about half what airfare alone would run. The most recent was for 3 nights at the Rio and RT airfare for $164. I think Harrahs just spits out these types of offers on occasion to everyone intheir system.

I've played "conservatively" at places where I'm trying to score comps and playing longer sessions, and "aggressively" at places where I'm just hit and running.

Bet spreads are actually similar, (maybe a bit lower minimums if hit and run), but the main difference is the amount of restraint in ramping bets (no 10x jumps) or how many intentional errors are inserted into play.

... And I can't actually guarantee this is a *smart* way to play it, it's just what I do.

Well thats nice to hear. What sort of stakes do you play and how many hours do you put in at harrahs? I feel like the comp levels at all the different joints varies wildly. Green/light black gets magic at some places but peanuts at others.
