Do you know heat?

I'm just opening the thread as a question for input. Do you know you are getting heat or do you wait until they 86 your butt. I have been in casinos where they are sutble about it and some where they just come out with clues. I wonder if it takes a the hammer to fall on some of us or do you head for the door at the first sign of heat. How many signs does it take for you to get the message? blackchipjim

For me it depends on the game. If it’s an opportunity that I don’t think will last then I will keep playing through the heat until my time is up. If it looks like an opportunity that might be available for a while then I’m more likely to walk away when the heat comes (or just before) in order to milk the game.

The floor manager came up to me and said, "You know, no one ever takes my words seriously but maybe you will. You seem to be a strong player and your ahead a reasonable amount. Why not take your winnings home or at least take a break for an hour or so. Don't let me see you in here until I'm gone for the day."

Message was received loud and clear. They didn't need to hit me over the head. I still see him nearly every week and every so often reminds me when it's time to take a break. I tip the dealer appropriately when ahead, cash in, and take a break. Now that's a beautiful gift.

I once got an unsolicited comp. The pit boss came over and said, "I see you've been playing for a while. Why don't you get something to eat? Just sign up for a players' card and we'll hook you up."

I assume I received a very similar message; I said I just ate, and then cashed out and didn't go back to that casino for a while.

Now these are some smart pit bosses...and are to be respected;)

You're still pushing it until the manger tells you to take a break without you figuring it out yourself? That's indeed a gift. Would that more places had that tolerance.

"Here's Your Sign!"

I had been pounding the pitch table for quite a while. The PC came over and said, "Hey, Dog, Bill Engvall's show is about to start in our showroom. Would you like a complimentary ticket?"

Thus, I was comped off the table... and it was worth it! That guy is hilarious!

Perhaps the difference between Rhinos and Dogs

So far, I've always hung around to see what happens when I notice the heat.

It never ends well.
That stubborn Rhino stands his ground till the boss says "no more blackjack."
The dog takes his comp, enjoys the comedy show and returns at another shift.

Yep, they've always been known to be thick-(headed) skinned.

A monkey does a combination of the two- keep playing until they tell me to stop, then come back on another shift anyway and perform my own comedy show.

Wow, I'm having Deja Vu.

Reminds me of the recent act I watched at the chain store.
