What's the lowest house advantage slot game you can possibly find? Or can you even determine the exact EV on all machines? It seems hard with progressives and such.shadroch said:I play enough slots to get them to cover my rooms and board.Played at the right time and place, slots can be a positive expectation game. But its quite a bit of work.
I don't believe there is such a thing as a break-even machine. Its only when you factor in cashback, room, food and show comps that the games become fairly neutral. If you cycle $10,000 thru a machine that has a 4% edge on a consistant basis, you will end up with around $9600 each time.It can easily be that you lost your entire BR one trip, lost $700 next one,and won $3,000 another time. Yet if its done on a triple cashback day,you might get around $300 back.Factor in a free room for a day or two and a few meals and you may have a slight advantage.ScottH said:What's the lowest house advantage slot game you can possibly find? Even if you could find a break-even slot, I imagine the variance has to be pretty wicked.

o, that must suck for you. i love everything about gambling. but i'm highly allergic to placing -EV bets. i never want to leave a casino, i want to camp out there all day and night playing blackjack. lol. :laugh:Sonny said:I mostly stick to BJ, but I'll play anything that has a +EV. I've played roulette, craps and slots a few times but only because there was a special promotion or coupon for them.
To be honest, I don't really enjoy gambling. I just like earning money. If I want to take a break and have some fun I'll go somewhere else (a good restaurant, strip club, etc). The casino is where I work. Sometimes work is fun, sometimes it is a bitch. Either way I want to get the heck out of there once I’ve put in my hours.
