Double down on soft hands

I hope this is in the correct place. If this has been adressed in another thread I haven't found it..

When a player is dealt a soft twenty, consisting of A,9. The BS is to stand. This soft hand is also a ten. Which when hit cannot bust. When the count is pos, should the player double down against a dealer five or six? The same thing for a soft nineteen consisting of A,8 against a dealer five or six. It would appear to be a money making play.

At a count of +1 it is correct to dd on soft19 vs5,or 6. I dont know the indice for soft 20vs. 5 or 6 but im pretty sure there is one.

Cass, can you tell me the source of that index or post a link to its source? I do not double on s19 at +1 but then again I only use basic indices.

Well I use Fred Renzey's Kiss III count from BJ bluebook II. At a count of "20".... I think it is ~+1 tc. It is optimal to DD on s19 vs 5 and 6. These are also two of the I18 plays. It is proper BS to DD on A8 vs 6 In any H17 game. I dont know about the soft twenty, I would have to refer to Wong's book for that indice. I dont use it anyway.
