One of my friends told me he read that you actually double an 11 vs. an Ace in games where it is H17. I have never looked at a H17 chart, so is this true?

Thanks,

David

Yes, at a neutral count, you double 11 versus every dealer up card in H17 games.

i tend to get dirty looks from other players when i do this. even when i double 11 v 10 they say thats pretty risky... also on top of this this came from a guy with a bs card in front of him.

Oh gotcha.

And wow you double Soft 19 vs a 6? I never would have ever thought to do that. That seems kind of... crazy

It's not a popular move, especially when it results in a Dealer 21 or BJ. Boy you just want to crawl under the table at times like that.

It has to do with the possibility of a dealer having an ace in the hole with the 6. Normally you don't do it because there's one hole-card that makes the dealer pat. Slightly increased bust chance, too.
