double w/ match play?

Recently I made a bet with a matchplay coupon and got 10 v 8. I could double, but only my principle wager, not the coupon. I chose to hit instead. Was I correct in doing so? If I was correct to hit, what is the worst double we should opt to double with? Obviously 11 v 5 is a no brainer because there is nothing to lose, but something like 9 v 3 is probably a hit because this is already a close decision.

My opinion is no - it is different than double for less...
...but now I also want a definitive math-based answer. Anyone?

Better to have doubled. You win the double just over 57% of the time. You win by hitting 60%. Not enough difference not to double.

I get table play, not match play. In effect, I may get 4 special chips worth $25 each. So far, I have been using them in negative decks because if you win, they exchange the table playchip for a green chip and, in effect, you win $25, lose the match play chip. Why not put real green chips in positive counts and the $25 table play in negative?

Any suggestions on how to use these table play chips where you don't have to match with real chips?
