How much do you lose doubling a 9 v 7 or 8?

Doubling 9 vs. 7 is actually the correct play in + counts. Doubling a 9 vs. 8 changes the hand from +EV to -EV so you wouldn't want to do that. Here are the actual numbers:

With 9 vs. 7, you win the hand 59% of the time if you hit and 53% of the time if you double (with a neutral count). That's counting pushes as a half win and a half loss. Doubling becomes correct with this hand at +3.5 true Hi/Lo, at "25 running" with KISS and at "+2 running" with KO in shoe games.Dyepaintball12 said:
