Effect of ridiculous penetration?

I found a dealer than was cutting 15-20 cards off of a double deck game. The rules weren't great, D10, S17 NDAS. But I was wondering if anyone knew what the winrate and SCORE for this game would be, with 1-6 or 1-8 spread.

PM sent. I wouldn't want to burn this game down before you got a chance to play it. :)

It's very likely that several casinos fit the bill. However, if any one of those casinos read this thread they will think twice about offering such a nice game. It would be a shame to burn out multiple paranoid casinos with a single thread. Although the casinos in his area would take the most notice (it's pretty easy to read through old posts and find out where someone is posting from), other casinos might get worried as well. If a casino starts giving great penetration, don't rub it in their face on a public message board. Even if the casino doesn't read about it, other players will. The game will get burned out one way or another, and possibly other games across the country will get burned from collateral damage ("Is he talking about our casino? We can't risk it. Kill the penetration on all games. I had no idea how much we were giving away!"). As the posting guidelines say:

“Exceptional game opportunities come and go, and the most surefire way to kill most of them is to post about them on a public message board. Use discretion when deciding how much to reveal about a play.”

Well, the penetration was only one dealer. Most of the other dealers were giving 55-70%, which is not that good considering the rules.

Those rules are faily crappy, but I'd estimate that 80-80% penetration would be multiple times more important to a counter's edge than the rules.

In fact, it might be the "perfect" game. Appealing to counters, but with the infrequent shuffling and crappy rules, would vacuum money fairly efficiently from civilians. That dealer is probably making that casino more than he's losing to the occassional counter.

If Casinos Only Knew

The deeper a casino deals the more money they make. They make money dealing cards so they should deal the cards as much as possible.

True, unless a team hits them.

Best Pen - Local Casino

In the high roller game room at Mountaineer (WV) they deal a good 6D game with $50 min. tables. Pen is dealer dependent and most time 1- 1 1/2 cut. NME...use the most capable dealers available on the shift. I normally play their tables in low table limit games because they understand the value of player added pen to their tip jar. They now have management evaluation experience and realize that the Casino could give two "shits" about them and understand the daily advantage players will over-tip for pen since their survival rests. One player giving a dealer $10/day adds up to approximately a guaranteed $200/month from one customer player at their table. That money is already in next month's budget.

That pen is good, but it's not unique. In the backwoods places up north you will occasionally see it that good, and there's a certain store Downtown where most of us have been asked to stop playing blackjack, where it's been known to happen.

The effect on win rate is enormous. Assuming a cut card is used it's also a good opportunity to manipulate pen. At a full table, 21 cards left, one card left before the cut card, just imagine if you had an opportunity to refuse a hit to play one more round.

ALL tips are pooled and divided among all the dealers on staff on a per hr. worked basis.

Dealers in the high-end casinos make around $30-$40/hr.

At good places earning are usually anywhere from $20-$25/hr.

At low-end properties earnings are generally anywhere from $12-$20/hr.

These are the hourly "toke rates", that are ADDED to whatever minimal wage they earn.
MGM pays its dealers $7.75/hr.
Most casinos pay between $5 and $6/hr.

Employee benefits vary considerably.

Its a very profitable game for the house - the deep pene combined with poor
rules. Its exactly the type of game that should be emulated throughout NV. zg
