European vs. American counting rules

Hey guys,

I am Canadian and most casino's work off the European system when the dealer does not deal a down card until all other hands have been played.

Is this a significant difference when I use counting methods like those proposed in "Beat the Dealer"?

Anyone have any other tips in regards to EBJ?

Cheers! :toast:

If dealer does not take both bets on dd/splits, then this is not true EHC. Minimal edge vs game that deals hole card. Poor pen, h17, etc will have much more effect. Also, if you are playing against CSM, move on. ASM you can count against. Good luck.

in your casino, do you lose only your original bet when the dealer flips a blackjack? or do you lose any doubles/split bets as well?

If the dealer takes both bets, don't double 11 v. 10 and don't split 8s vs. A,T, and don't split As vs. A.

The Dealer will take both bets if he gets a natural. :devil:

Golfnut can you slow down a bit with the acroynoms? :) Not to sure what you are saying exactly.

So should I just follow typical USBJ theories except for moos exceptions?

h17= dealer hits soft 17.
EHC= european no hole card rule
pen= penetration
CSM=continuous shuffle machine
ASM= automatic shuffle machine.

Not good. I would avoid this game unless you can get excellent penetration(5 decks in play)

Sorry about that ! And thanks Moo for helping out. Such a team around here !

In what city/casino have you seen ENHC in Canada? Coast to coast I have seen plenty of no hole card games but splits and doubles are always returned on a dealer blackjack.
