keep in mind that i have never been to a casino when i ask this.
do casinos usually deal the cards face down or face up???
when they deal them face down is this actually a different type of blackjack???
edit:
also i forgot to ask:
on average how much, if any, does the casino charge per hand of blackjack???

If they deal from the hand, its called a pitch game and is dealt face down. If it is from a shoe,it is dealt face up.I''ve never seen a single deck that was dealt face up.Some double deck games are dealt face up,some face down.Anything more than two decks is always face up.
In a face up game, you cannot touch your cards.
Casinos do not charge a fee to play. There is a minimum bet, which varies greatly. In the US,it is getting rare to find a game with less than a $5 minimum bet, although cheaper games do exist.

Just a side comment..

I really hate dealing with face down. It has no effect on the count but my biggest peeve is when I have a double down and then the dealer flips over a pat hand or makes a pat hand. I neve rknow how I should feel about it.

my biggest problem with face down is that at a crowded table I forget what my hand was by the time the dealer gets back to flip it over.

It's emotionally draining.
