Facial recognition

Right now, almost nobody. The facial recognition software currently available to casinos is not very reliable and is easy to trick. I’m not saying it doesn’t work, just that it isn’t a reliable tool yet. Of the few casinos that actually use it, I would imagine it would take quite a lot more than a little black action to get in their face database. Most casinos aren't going to invest in this technology until it becomes more practical.

I dont like this idea at all.

Who will be the targets of this. Just the black chip players?

If you don't belong to Al Quida I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep on playing your normal game.

worry not

Don't worry about Facial recognition. Most casinos who used it subscribed to the Griffin Online Data Base (GOLD). Griffin, the Las Vegas based detective agency - formed to find advantage players / gamblers - went under in 2005 when it was successfully sued by several blackjack players barred from casinos for their expertise. Thus, no facial recognition remains - other than the casino's own databases, probably built prior to that time. Maybe that is a short term thing, but as of now, you're ok I think....

I;m barred from all UK land-based casinos, but that's because of card counting and taking too much cash, rather than facial recognition... (they know who you are from day one, because you have to have a membership to play - a compulsory UK gaming act requirement).

No, the Griffin Agency is still in business and the database is still online. Many casinos still subscribe to it.

Somewhere I read that the Griffin book is getting thinner and thinner due to the recent lawsuits and the large amount of incorrect and unverified info it contains. Though still in business, they did file for bankruptcy. Perhaps it's just a legal ploy to protect their assets, who knows...

That would explain my barring from ALL UK casinos then... presumably I'm either on Griffin, or some Europe localised version of it... and if not Griffin, something mighty similar...
