few questions involving ko and bj in general

at what count would you typically wong in or wong out at? how + or - does it need to be for you.

also where can I find a basic strategy chart

one more, do you ever use the count to influence the way you play a hand? or is it basic strategy no matter what?

ie: Q 2 vs. dealers 2 with a very positive count. Would you stay here or hit because it is BS and you follow BS to the T.?

Thx in advance

Do you have the KO book? These are all good questions, and they're all addressed in the book in some form or another.

Wonging is the toughest question. First, it's a matter of playing conditions and personal style, but also, using a running count like KO makes it tougher. For wonging-in, you'd probably want a running count at least 3 or so over the key count. For wonging out, there's an "exit strategy" published in the book, it compares the number of decks dealt with the running count at the moment. Personaly, I tend to only wong out of shoes when the count gets very bad, but that's because I get impatient trying to find new tables.

I really like the basic strategy tables you can produce on this site more than most others:

As for play deviation, yes, there are tons, they're tracked by the "index" count at which you start to vary your play. The KO book has about 16. They focus on very positive counts, because that's when you have the most money on the table (so they matter more), but you can have indices for very negative counts too (hit 12 vs 4, for instance).

Also, qfit simmed an even simpler version of KO indices, which I think are pretty cool:

$12.74 on amazon.com. That expenditure can really eat into your EV

I checked KO out of the library of all places!!! Hey, read it a couple times, copied a few critical pages out of it, and made some cheat sheets on Excel. But, it wouldn't hurt to have a copy. To me, having it for a couple of weeks and practicing did the trick. Now, I've got reference sheets to check out before going to the casino.

Good luck man...the KO works for me, but I'm a recreational player looking for a way to count shoe games without converting to the TC and a way to have a simplified deviation index system. It's got it for me.

Library is the cheapest, but I got mine used from Amazon for like 8 bucks with shipping.

Ironically, the book was a worn-out copy from the Clark County Library.

When to wong out is dependent on soooooo many factors. One of which is whether or not you are playing shorthanded/heads up. If you're playing heads up and have a goood game in front of you can probably stick furhter into negative count, just realize the amount of index plays you are going to have to use. First and foremost when the count gets substantially negative start hitting 12 and 13 vs any dealer card.

Q 2 vs 2 in a very positive count warrants standing most likely. what is your definition of very positive count?

dunno for sure because I have very limited experience counting, but my guess would be that a very positive count is higher than 24 above the IRC
